MSB Sentinel

I’m wondering, 2x DAC boxes, 2x PSU boxes, and 1x Digital Director box. Given that Cascade is ~$95k, I shudder think where the Sentinal will check in.

Love my Premier stack, don’t think I will ever have the $ or inclination to upgrade to Cascade. Too much of my system needs improvement before a DAC upgrade would be of any use.

There's a lot to be said for buying a good integrated and being happy with the simplicity of that. A five box DAC (if that is what Sentinal is), together with all the other boxes you need to make a system, is just too complex. Even if I could afford it I wouldn't do it. One box that does it all is very appealing.

The level of performance when separating components in a digital system is next level. Similar to Grandioso.

Looking at descriptions, and pics on the MSB site, I believe the 5 box set includes the Sentinel amps. The design looks to continue the 3 box design, like the Cascade: power supply box, DAC box, and the digital input/pre-amp box. The power supply, and DAC boxes are roughly twice as tall as the Sentinel Digital Director.

With the 95k Cascade, I did imagine the price would reflect the “no holds barred” concept to this group of engineers.

Congratulations MSB guys!

Rolls never really did that (unless you consider Bentley, RR's 20th century less expensive luxury brand); MSB has.
They have, it’s called the Discrete with dual PSU’s. NOTHING can touch it for even close to its price point. $15,750 MSRP all in. It beats dcs costing more.
