I believe they also just announced their Select Transport with pictures and details to follow.
 
I’ll be looking at MSB later this year when their new line comes out, along with a few others. They appear to be issuing some nice pieces at better price points

What MSB uses looks like an optical fiber cable with LC connectors. These are widely used in networking:

The communication system is a laser source with a single mode fiber optic cable specific for laser wavelength transmission. It can run a kilometer and still be bit perfect. The system employs a robust MSB designed error correction system that is absolutely bit perfect.

I emailed my rep last night. The transport mechanism is just one part. Everything else is built by MSB, including the new PRO ISL cable, power supply, etc.

IMO, Oppo will not affect MSB moving forward, can’t speak for the past other then they are proven to be reliable
