MSB Launches Two New DAC’s

Am I missing a trick with DSP?

As per my earlier post, Innuos goes up to DSD 128 and 32/352. And does MQA. Seems good enough?!

DSP = Room correction

Ah. Now that could be decisive for me given that I have a sub-optimal audio room (Jim would have a field day sorting it out!).

I don’t think it can handle the advanced DSP functions of Roon nor some of the future features coming.

I obviously don't know about future features, but maybe Innuous will post to this thread and clarify for folks.

Clearly, Roon Nucleus and Innous take two different approaches to streaming audio (as does Small Green Computer and Melco as well) and individuals can decide on their preference.

Yes, let's hope so. I've looked at Innous products in Munich last year. The CD ripper part is good. I just checked out their website and they have a new Zenith Statement coming. Looks interesting. But there are so many of these types of devices out there: Aurender, Lumin, Auralic, Melco, BlueSound, etc. The field is very crowded.

My comments about DSP/future apps and Innous current horsepower came from my Roon rep when I asked him. Maybe their new stuff like the Statement has more horsepower. I guess one never really knows until you try it.

here is an HQ Player 'setting' screen shot I took from my phone. i'm not the most knowledgeable person on these settings. they were dialed in remotely by Emile last fall when we did a number of listening tests on various settings.

i'm using these settings both when using the SGM as the Roon core, and when inputting from the SGM with USB. no change in either config.

I can instantly switch back and forth between those 2 configurations with one click on the Roon remote.

Mike L..Can u share ur MQP settings going into MSB R2 renderer?

Kingsrule,

not familiar with the term 'MQP' settings. is that in the MSB Select II internal file directory? I don't see it in the Roon 'settings' pages and don't see it in the MSB Select II menu tree.

happy to tell you if I know what to look for and where to find it.

Sorry....meant HQP Corrected my post above

How do u do ethernet into V2?

ok......HQP setting are the same (see the pic above) whether the SGM is operating with USB or as the Roon Core.

my 30 terabyte Synology NAS is upstairs above my listening room in my Barn (mirrored by a matching 30 Tb NAS in my house). I have a Gigi-switch up there next to the NAS with a 40 foot Ethernet cable running in a conduit directly to my Renderer v2 (an optical interface runs in that same conduit). also have a network connection near my gear in my 2 channel room connected to the SGM. and the SGM has it's USB interface with the MSB Select II.

so both are fully connected and I can switch back and forth from Renderer to USB.

as far as the actual process of connecting the MSB Select II Renderer v2 with Ethernet, my son assisted me so not sure i'm much help. but he said it's pretty simple. you simply go into the MSB menu tree and enable it. it finds the NAS on the Network.

Well, now every one has me completely interested in MBS! Great reading and might work something out with Mike. It is always a pleasure and informative talking with him.

Do any MSB Premier purchasers have an update on their delivery date? Seems like mine is now early August (apparently waiting for a part to be delivered).

On last friday my order was in the metal finisher. And they wrote as soon as it come back we will ship. My dealer will contact MSB tomorrow and hopefully the message will be positive.

The Indian dealer has reporter that Premier DAC is too good. I hope he is right and I cross my fingers that my DAC is done.

I had the pleasure of auditioning a fully tricked-up MSB Select DAC and Transport over the weekend. As much as I like my Esoteric, I liked the MSB also. Two flavors of good.

I've owned Esoteric since October 2017. I saw my first MSB anything 2 days ago. I'd be equally happy owning either, but financially poorer owning MSB.
