MQA now on Tidal

I still see no 'Masters' category

Closing the iPad is not killing any app. To kill an app, double click the Home button and swipe the app as Elem79 said.

If that didn't work, please reboot your iPad. After booting it up, make sure the iPad has access to the Internet. Then launch Lumin app.

Way to go Lumin! Next up: full blown MQA PLEASE!

Peter...this is really cool...Please thank all who helped pull this off...I assume that the new albums will populate the Section too...

For those using Lumin app, there should now be a Masters category under Tidal. If you don't see it, please kill the app and retry tomorrow.

Many thanks, Peter. I see the Masters category in my Esoteric app too!

Now that is great news! This means ECM, Capitol, Decca, Verve, BlueNote, & EMI....among others. A ton of great jazz and classical in there!

Bob, (from Bob:0) How did you extrapolate all of the other label from the Universal announcement? I may have missed what you see, as it would be a GREAT THING, but all I read is that Universal now signed up, so now it's Warner and Universal, but where do you get the rest of them from?

According to this Stereophile announcement, "UMG's labels include ECM, Interscope, Geffen, A&M, Capitol, Island, Def Jam, Decca, Verve, Blue Note, Virgin, and EMI."

Thx!!!! That is MAGNIFICENT!!! I did not realize that the UMG umbrella included all of these labels....now it's "game over" as far as whether MQA will be accepted.

How strange, does not mention the article to Deutsche Gramophon, in the list of UMG tags. I guess it will be a mistake, anyway for me this announcement means that I will definitely need medium-term MQA decoding. We will see whether by software alone, or by dedicated hardware. In any case a FANTASTIC news.

Universal's announcement also states that MQA will be used only for streaming, not for purchasable hi-res downloads

Yes, I should have added that to my post, that there already seem to be some Universal MQA titles for sale (some people found them before Universal's announcement). Nevertheless, that's what the company posted...

Sorry to ask, but do you mind pointing me to the link where that was said? Thanks!

Sorry, I don't remember. One of the many audio forums I read without having long-term recall of its details. When I think something is important (which IMO this is not) I'll quote it and repost.

In this case maybe check audiostream?
