Move to Canada...

Furnace couldn't keep the house at 70 F yesterday, the best it could do most of the day was 65 F, never seen that before. The cold wasn't the problem, it was the wind that made it pretty interesting!

Merry Christmas Norman, and Dan! :)

Happy New Year Bob (and everybody). We had a small snowstorm here in Philly last night. We go back today, so I need to check out the weather back home...I am hoping for mild! :-)

Mike, did you used to live in Canada? You said you recall those days.....

Finally, -40F = -40C !!!!!!

Just came back from the country side (outdoors), and it is +16° Celsius right now here at my mansion (igloo).

* Sunny blue sky with not a single cloud on the horizon. I might hit +20° Celsius later on, @ around 2:00 PM.
Canada is a great place to live, if you know where to be exactly, because in Montreal it is -38° Celsius! ...And it should go below -40° Celsius tonight! ...Minus 50°? ...You never know, because there is a goddamn cold front (freezing blizzard) right now!

Anyway, I might go play golf. :) ...Good for the muscles, and the control of the mind (emotions and frustrations).
...Just ask any golfer.

Anyone play chess here? ...Good sport for those cold front winter days from back East. :D

Hi Norm, I believe that Mike used to live in Toronto before indeed. ...Not 100% sure though.

Norm - I grew up in Toronto. Moved to Calgary in 1998 and then moved to Florida in 2004. The amazing people of Calgary is something I miss dearly. The kindest, friendliest, most down to earth people are from YYC!

Toronto has changed too much for my liking. Now it's just like any big city with big city problems. When I was a kid, it was an amazing place. Calgary on the other hand still has a small town feel. But the weather....oh man....I just couldn't take the weather.

Florida is home now. Sarasota is a great town. Just the right size.

Toronto has 'Ford' more years (most likely). ;) ...And cold winters, and Ottawa (not far from Toronto) is Canada's official government home.

Calgary has rodeos, cowboys, cowgirls, and overflowing rivers (sometimes). ...Cold winters too.
...Home of Stephen Harper, our first prime minister (now), and under scandals in his house. ;)

Canadian people are generally very friendly. :)

I'm trying! It was -30 Sunday night and our high yesterday was -17. It's currently -16 as I write this; brrr. It's looking like it's going to be a really nice weekend, though.

I hope everyone's staying warm out there. It's been brutal lately.

'Brutal' is the right word. ...And blame the Polar Vortex.

* Btw, +6° degree Celsius here on the South Island today (with light rain, sky covered, and in the clouds).
...Forecast is for +10° Celsius later on this week. ...That's pretty cold if you ask me. ;)

How hot is it now in Florida? ...In Las Vegas? ...I've heard that it's colder in Jacksonville than in Newfoundland!

I would not like to be stuck at an airport right now; like Pearson's airport for example!
- Or stuck inside a plane for five hours and you are not allowed to use the bathroom!!! ...What kind of human behavior is that! :disbelief:
...Food and drinks? ...Forget it!
