More Info on the New.8 series Amps

The XA.8's were my favorite new SS amps. Listened for 45 minutes this morning. Listened to vinyl and digital on the XA160.8's. They are fast, dynamic, punchy, quick bass, terrific midrange and much better separation than the XA.5's. These new amps from Nelson & Co. are going to be a home run for them. A pair of XA60.8's might just be the ticket.
 
Those are some sweet amps Mark. If the .8 series are like the .5 series then this may help sway you one way or another. It's from a review on the .5 series amps.

The XA.5 amplifiers incorporate all of the X.5 improvements but operate in pure class A for even lower distortion and better control of difficult loads. Nelson says the XA.5 amps also give the listener a more musical balance by delivering greater warmth, sweetness, depth and space - qualities which Nelson feels are significantly improved over their evolutionary predecessors.

If it were me, I'd go with the XA160.8's.
 
Before I pulled the trigger on the Dag, I was wondering how a Pass amp would sound with the Alexias. The one I lust for but easily out of reach is the Xs150. Jeff's review of them had me drooling. I would love to read a review that says the Xa.8's get you very close to the Xs sound but at a fraction of the cost...

Me too Allen ! I'd love to have that kind of performance for less money. We'll see, David will be getting the new Pass amps as soon as they're available. I plan on doing some in home testing with my Salons.

We'd love to read your opinion on the new amps. I think the XA60.8's might be perfect for me. Let us know what you decide.
