Thoughts and prayers are with the people of Moore, Oklahoma!
Tornado hit schools and they are searching for children.

Just read 37 dead, 7 of them children.

My prayers go out to all who were impacted.

Death toll already upped to 51 (as of a few hours ago now...) - probably will keep climbing.

From what the Lt Gov said - this thing hit 2 miles wide, and it lasted for 40 minutes!

Thnx for the updates E.. it's so sad, since quite a few young ones :(

300km an hour winds! ...This is so tragic and sad; lots of love and prayers for everyone.

An hotel not far from there (at the outskirt of Moore) has raised their room's prices just because of that tragedy!!! The owner of that hotel should be jailed immediately!
...And the usual looters of course.

* There is no law in the USA requiring that you should build tornado shelters in that region for public places like schools!!!
There is no money at all going to tornado's prevention & protection!!!
There's some' real wrong in this country, with that picture. ...Or people should not be allowed to build there, at all.

In 1999, they said that this could not happen twice for at least 4,000 years! ...Only took 14, and pretty much the exact same path, but this time more damage because they rebuilt and built much more new houses in the exact same area! ...And some houses were still recovering from the 1999's tornado! ...The more you read about it, the more you discover the incredible truth!
They said that this particular tornado was the most powerful ever! ...They'll get confirmation after all the meteorological measurements and analyses; roughly 24 hours from now.
Today's weather calls for the same conditions!

This is an alley where houses should be built underground, and not exposed to nature devastating elements where people and children lost their lives. But who wants to live below the surface? ...Then build mountains around.

For now, today I'm praying...

Trung and I live in whats referred to as "Tornado Alley". In this part of the country tornadoes are a fact of life. Last week we had 16 tornadoes in the Dallas/Ft. worth area. Lots of damage, but fortunately no deaths. This one that hit Moore was a beast. I'm praying that they find and rescue more of the people that are missing.

Prayers to all those affected !! It's a very sad day.

The tornado was classified as an EF-4, the second most powerful. 200+ mph winds is hard to imagine.

My thoughts and prayers go out to all who were affected by this terrible tragedy.

Thoughts and prayers out to Moore, OK. The destructuve force of this tornado is just unimaginable. Seems like we are increasingly vulnerable to natural disasters each year. Let's hope federal and private dollars reach those impacted as quickly as possible so that they can put this behind them and start on the hard work of rebuilding. Unfortunately, no amount of money will be able to assuage the hearts of those who have lost loved ones. For those people, I only wish them eventual peace of mind and heart that only time will be able to deliver from such a horrific event.

I was just discussing with another member that I talked to a group of college students yesterday, from Oklahoma City University on their way back from Memphis.

A few of them were visibly upset when talking about OKC.

Sad, sad situation.

My thoughts and prayers go out to Moore.
It really touched my soul to talk with them, not knowing what they were going back to...:(

The Moore tornado has now been officially designated an EF5 , which is the most powerful tornado on the scale. It's a miracle that more people weren't killed.

The good news is the death toll has been reduced to 24, down from 51, I'm grateful for that, but still mourn for the victims and their families !

My wife works at a Starbucks here in N Dallas and they are collecting dog/cat food etc to take up to Moore tomorrow or Friday. I forget which day. Its amazing how people are trying to think of anyway they can help.

...

That's right Mark; they established that it was indeed an EF-5 category because it ripped the house's foundations. ...An EF-4 tornado leaves the cement foundations (from houses) intact.

* Was it that 1999 tornado (in the same area) which was recorded with winds of 485 km hour?!!
