Has anyone compared these? Price is roughly equivalent here in Singapore. Beyond my budget at the moment but am curious nonetheless. Will be testing them soon to see just how much better (?) they both are as compared to some (much cheaper, but excellent) integrated amps I am testing, to decide whether to go for the cheaper integrated amps now or wait (quite a while!) until I can afford to splash out on some Dags.

Hi Andrew,

I'd do the Momentum integrated. You'll be saving quite a few in cables, and it'll take a lot less space as well.

cheers,
alex

Tough call. I really like the industrial design of the Progression line. The pre-amp and stereo amp make a great pairing.

Thanks Alex and Jim.

Space-wise I can do two boxes. Which of the two systems would you buy?

In terms of comparison, I have another thread on this but have you compared either to the Gryphon Diablo 300 or the Pass Labs INT-250? They are both less than half the cost of the DAGs.

Now that I have about 200 hours on the Disblo 300.

Is it as good as the KXR20/Dag M400 combo. NO- get real. But - $16,000 compared to $94,000. The Diablo holds it's own. Great soundstage (as good), very precise instrument imaging (98% as good), no silabince (as good), not as refined but has a great (better) leading note attack which leads to great PRAT.

Never had the Dag integrated in my system. But guessing - it would be a total toss up with the Diagblo.

A friend of mine has compared Dag Momentum monos to Progression monos. The later are a bit more transparent and powerful (but not thin or threadbare sounding like some high feedback, wide bandwith SS amps), the former (Momentum) a bit warmer sounding. Tough call really, he is using extremely uinefficient Dynaudio Consequence Limited Edition speakers (81dB or so) so went with the Progression monos.

Personally, I would look for an used Momentum integrated. I have sold one for $23k last year.

Oh yeah, a used momntum integrated, at around $25k, that would be a great piece I'd consider if I were shopping and I didn't already have a ref quality pre-amp. Momentum line is exceptional (and spendy!)

Hi, Elberoth, since you`ve sold the Momentum integrated , does it mean you prefer the MSB monos with your Magicos? How about the Vitus monos? Would you please compare the three?

Thank you!
