Mike's Systems

Mike

If the other gear is coming and she just wants to get the Kronos up and running how about something simple that can be an emergency back up later like the new iFi. This will give her plenty of time to test drive the higher priced models and not be out much.

Thank you Jack for chiming in. Mike had suggested me this, too. Maybe I really should do it.

Yes but it is phono preamp right? I prefer to get just phono stage. My dealer in VN said Airtight stopped making just phono stage.

He's wrong. They definitely make a standalone phonostage. You want the SUT with it.

But keep looking and listening. Lots of good stuff.

That's good news. Where I live the hi end market is very sleepy. Everytime I want to audition I must fly to Hanoi, 2000km away. With my very bad health status I guess I can't be too perfectionist now :-)

Kronos phono stage 40-50K? Or that;s for Pro TT? They have a reasonable priced one for Sparta I hope :audiophile:

Me too! If you want to just get a great one and be done, then the CH or Vitus are both good. When the vinyl is spinning, you will be happy!

I will be so happy when all is in my room I will cry for sure. It will finally dream come true- I will have nothing to regret not having a chance to enjoy yet in this life

Thank you so much Mike. And all of AS great people

The Vitus really makes the most sense from a synergy standpoint.

How about the Nagra BPS phonostage for a short-term solution. Compact, inexpensive and that classic Nagra sound.

Best,
Ken

BPS is transistor based, fast, leanish, while the VPS is tube based and a bit sluggish. Both are Nagra though.

I plan on picking up the Dynamic Sound Associates phonostage myself. Not sure if it's available in Vietnam.

.

+1. I am using the DSA Phono II. I like it. Very good performance for its relatively modest price.

Re: Mike's Systems - another Duo Mezzo system

I stumbled across this thread looking at reviews for the ZOTL amp, and noted Mike's Duo Mezzo XDs.

I own a non XD Duo Mezzos, and thought I would share pics for folks who might not have a dedicated room like Mike.

Mine are in our living room, about 14 by 18, with 16 x 48 ASC traps in each corner. Room is not ideal, and I can't pull speakers out as far as Mike has done, but sound is still surprisingly good.

My wife actually likes them, but that could be due to she is happy I moved off of my prior blue Duo G2s:D

So don't count these speakers out just because you don't have dedicated ideal size living room.
