CDs sound better.
Mike, Peter Breuninger, the very nice gentleman who did that video, and many many more, from AVShowrooms, his own website; it would be real cool to have him here. Peter is one of the nicest people I ever talked too, and all his videos and his vast knowledge on everything quality audio related are impeccable. Plus he knows several grand audio masters (designers, manufacturers, music lovers, audiophiles, ...) from many places around the world.
Mike, if you have the chance please; tell him Bob (NorthStar) says Hi to him, and that I'm also sending my warmest invitation to him to join us here at AudioShark.
I heard a lot of great tables at RMAF - but when I heard the Kronos....it was on another level.
Lol!!! It's cool and all but it kinda looks like they stole a ClearaudioThat it is!!!! And i'm not even a turntable guy and I want one.

Wood Innovation And modified it. I love the bottom platter that spins the opposite way to spin the top platter. Kinda cool.
But all in all for the retail price you can get an AMG/top shelf tonearm with a lyra atlas for less or with a goldfinger statement for a couple thou extra. And it's probably just as good if not better. IMO .
Agreed, the wow factor is the most important factor when your contemplating spending that kind of money. I'm just saying a world class tonearm , a world class cartridge and top shelf cables are what your hearing mostly and my ear isn't good enough to tell the difference what type of table is running that setup. Well at least when you get into that class. Which is well above my class btw lmao!!!I will say that AMG's are very good, but listening to the Kronos gave me a "WOW" moment that the AMGs never have done for me. And "WOW" moments are fun. :woot:
Not sure there is really a best Bob. At this level, pick your choice of the finest. To my ears, the Kronos is superb and sonically miles ahead of many other tables I've heard. That being said, unless you have all the tables in the same system, it is difficult to be 100% certain.
Mike
I'd be perfectly happy with the table that you have.
