What the heck is all that silver bling doing on the top of the amp? Why doesn't the meter reflect 1.25KW? Looks like the same meter from the 1.2Kw amp.

Dan. I am sure those strips of Silver bling do something sonically to the sound :) I am just not sure what.

I think that relates to the MC2KW. The translation is not good but I think there are essentially 3 modules on the same chassis with the MC1.25KW, giving an effective 3 boxes per channel. I expect them to be like 1/2 size MC2KW's in a single box.

I am expecting an official announcement next week. Fingers crossed. :)

That’s what I thought. Not sure about the bling though. It looks like some giant magnets or clamps to me.
 
I absolutely love the new look and if they turn out to be what I’m expecting, watch out. They will be killer. McIntosh is back, not that they went anywhere, in a big way. I’m excited for their future.

Joe I too like the new look. Looks to me like they are making an attempt to return statement level cosmetics to upper end products. As usual change brings critisism, but seeing them in person will form a better impression as well as time to adjust to changes from older designs.
 
I LOVE the new look and love the amp design itself (it sounds like the design is a scaled down version of the mighty 2KWS).
 
What's the US MSRP on these babies?

I LOVE the new look as well :) If I ever go SS again, Mac would certainly be a decision.

Based on the yen conversion, it looks like 34K per pair but I’m hoping there is some sort of discount or reduced retail pricing here. I’m thinking we will know more next week.
