Mbl 101 mkii - goldmund telos 1000 - dartzeel nhb-18ns - transrotor video 2

They are in a completely different league. The Extremes need a big room - 20 feet wide was squishy. I'd say 30 wide x 40 would be ideal. The sound is beyond comprehension.

I have heard many of the "top" speakers and 'till now nothing has produced the sound of the Extremes. In my opinion they are in a league of their own. I really like the 101 MK II's but the Extremes play in a different sandbox. With the right gear they just energize the room with music and all four of those towers disappear.

I am not sure how they would sound with Goldmund amps. I do not like the Goldmund amps with Goldmund or Focal Grand EM speakers. I would stick with MBL amps.

+1. Words cannot describe the Extremes. All other speakers are variations of the same thing. The Extremes are like comparing a 100 inch 3D HDTV to a 14 inch black and white CRT.

MIke, I couldn't have said it better. It was an audio epiphany for me.

Jim,

I agree the MBL's would sound best with their own amplification. It's hard denying system synergy. Especially at this level.

May be I should borrow a pair of MBL 101 to try with my Goldmund Telos 2500??

That system belongs to a friend of mine, from Rio! I've been to his room, and it's indeed fantastic.
I had heard that MBL before, the mk I, but that mk II was something else entirely. Much, much better. Bass was much better behaved too.
I also didn't like the Goldmund amp I heard (Telos 350), but those were not bad :) Granted, it was playing vinyl (the owner didn't even have a CD player!), and through the wonderful darTZeel pre...

Joe,

As Alexandre said, this system is a friend of mine here in RJ / Brazil, his system is wonderful. He lives very close to my house.

Currently, he has beyond Apollon Transrotor, a dCS Puccini + U-Clock. This system has a holographic soundstage, dynamics of giving chills, and timbre and focus spectacular. There is nothing left, the system is very synergistic.

Ricardo - I heard the MBL 101 Extremes (NOT made in China....sorry....inside joke)....and they are incredible. They played tricks on my mind. Surreal.

No problem...:D

The biggest problem to hear the system that my friend, is having to get a 3 days without turning on my system ... kkkkkkk .... I'm not saying my setup is bad, far from it. The system with the MBL 101 MKII which is spectacular.

I know what you're saying. The MBL's are in another league. They are my "if I win the lottery" speaker. They require a 20 x 30 room as a minimum.
