Marten Django XL and Bird 2

Hi ,

Any Marten Django XL and Bird 2 owners or people with fair experience with them here?

Please let me know your opinions about them , systems and music used ?

Your experience/comments about bass integration with the the rest of the speaker , room , positioning , etc... is highly appreciated.

I heard the Django's a few years ago at a local audio club meeting. I was mighty impressed with what I heard. They were playing in a fairly large room powered by the new (then) Carver Black Beauty amps. Very musical and well integrated top to bottom. Great dynamics and presence and detail, but not overly analytical. They were placed fairly well out into the room.

You have a good memory,you need to drink more to forget HA!. I can't compare it to the Bird 2 since I've never heard it. But when you read reviews and they say a $15,000 speaker that can easily compete with $30,000 speaker that's a true statement. I had the Tannoy Canterbury's before the Django, so I can't compare the two since there different beasts. But I had the Hansen Prince V2 before that and if memory serves me right it definitely gave them a run for the money. Did I sell them because they did something wrong? Unfortunately not I had to try something different.

John, long time no see! How're the Ref 1's treating you? MSB amps still driving them?

Allen the MSB S200 still driving the Ref 1 and MSB front end. It's been a while since I bought anything so contemplating on finally demoing some amps but haven't zoned in on anything yet since there so much great gear out there as well as hard to demo in my own setup. As far as the Ref 1 goes they have yet to disappoint my ears at low or ear piercing levels. Paul enclosed is my current setup.

I had a pair of Canterbury 4 years ago in my living room setup; unfortunately never got the sound expected with tubes and used SS to get better control . On the other hand the vintage Tannoys I had before, Monitor Silver/Red/Gold /HPd ( actually I have a pair of 15" reds) were more pleasing than the Canterbury´s .
