Hi Adam,
I actually think the Bronze M-Cast finish is really nice. When do you expect to receive them?
Ken
My friend texted me today and said his pair of S5 Mk2's are due to ship out of the factory by the end of this week, so you're right, it sounds like they're behind by a quarter with production of the new models. Magico have an amazing dedication to producing the best loudspeakers & remind me of great craftsman like Stradivarius. Never rush a good violin they say..No idea. In December I was told end of Q1. But that was supposed to be the second production run - the first one (the one ppl are getting now) was already sold out in December and was supposed to go to the dealers in January, so I can only guess there is a delay.
I like the Bronze M-Cast. This is my second pair I'm getting in this color. This color has a gold flakes in it, so it is more bronze metallic, than a plain bronze.
Great looking space. Impressions Paul??

Paul, the Magico S5 Mk2's appear to be true reference speakers, being essentially neutral, resolving & transparent to source. As such, you might prefer these speakers paired with a full tube setup such as CAT, Absolare, CJ or Einstein Audio. I believe Mark carries EAR tube gear which would add a bit of sweetness. With that said, it would disturb the natural order if everyone loved the same brand/type of speaker. Variety is the spice of life they say :audiophile:.I really enjoyed the session today. It took me first seven songs to get used with the sounds. ( mind you I'm a BBC monitor lover guy ) after few songs and placing the speakers around the bit. I was toe tapping in to the music.
The details and sounds stage was amazing. It doesn't not have a sweet vocal sounds like my Harbeth / Air Tight combo however there are few department that surpass my system. Am I gonna buy this Magico ? Probably not( well can't afford it with sh&$ Canadian dollars [emoji13]) but if you like the black background and tiny details and the clap sounds make you goosebumps ( live albums ) ? This is must hear before you buy anything else.
Oh yeah, I was aware the Tenor amps are tube hybrid amps. I was just thinking if the sound wasn't as sweet as Paul likes, he might prefer a full tube setup. In any case, it's good to try different flavoursHi Tom, keep in mind between the Tenor pre and power the signal passed through a total of 20 tubes.
Mark.

They do look like amazing amps :coolyeah:Indeed.
Why I stated the amount of tubes is that most Hybrid Stereo amps have 2 tubes. The Tenor 175s has 12 and the pre-amp 8.
