Hi everyone, I've recently moved from NYC to Venice Ca.. I've owned Q5's, S5's which I thought were
superior to the Q's. My listening room is smaller now as I suspected ,so rather than shipping the S5's out here, I sold them to a very nice member here. I'm glad it worked out because the S5's would've been a tad too large. I took delivery of a new pair of S3's Wednesday. I was a bit concerned about the bottom end , moving from 2 -10's to 2-8's. Knowing the 3's have the same mid and tweeters as the 5s,I took a leap of faith. LOVE them. Strangely, right out of the crates, they are quite "punchy", with plenty of bottom end. This seems to be the only case I've ever encountered of moving down the line and becoming happier.? Maybe the new midrange enclosure helps a bit. Looking forward to letting them break in for a while. Maybe these are the "sweet spot" as advertised.

Hi there. My experience of Magico is that they're in a constant learning curve and also that they're erratic about which models in each series they release first. As result, it is by no means a foregone conclusion that the Q5 is better than the Q3, which is....

If memory serves , the Q5 came first then the Q3's , which I own . When auditioning them , I thought the 3's better than the 5's to my ears , more cohesive, quicker, tighter in sonic resolution, more together. The 5's seemed bass heavy and ponderous in comparison.

Enjoy the journey!!

BTW - how are you finding the Audience cable synergy with the Magico's?

Congrats, Jim! I liked the S3 as well. Their midrange is fantastic! Happy listening!

Congrats Jim! S3's are excellent speakers. Enjoy.

I have replaced my Audience speaker cables with a set of custom made Furutech cables. I prefer them. I think Audience's strength is power products.

Congrats on the new S3s

Which model Furutechs are you using?

Congrats Jim on your move to the West Coast and your new S3's. I agree with the comments that Magico continues to improve their product with each new release. I think you're really benefiting from this with their newest S3.

Jim,

I also own the Audience power conditioner and power cords and they are terrific. While their speaker cables and ICs are very good, I also preferred to go in a different direction on these cables as I believe there are better out there.

Welcome to lala land- virtually nobody moves back :)

I'm in your hood off Washington, so will have to hear the S3s sometime.

Hi Michael! You have an open invitation. You're always welcome here. As well as my new neighbor Keith. I'm right off Abbot Kinney at Woodland.

Make sure you let the burglars know where you hide the key to the front door. :)
