Magico M7 announced?

This is the M1/M2. The CF enclosure must be for the tweeter. You can see a Morel based midrange / midwoofer below it.

I like this post... but I'm afraid my wallet HATES this post

Here is the latest teaser from Magico! Note the obvious reference "CF", pointing to the adoption of a carbon fiber midrange enclosure. The use of carbon fiber in this application it should be noted would be a first for Magico, but has been in common use by Wilson Benesch for some time.

Yes, it does look familiar. Then again, Wilson Benesch uses it only for the midrange enclosure. Here, it appears to be for both the midrange and tweeter?

I can't see a speaker larger than the M3 being supported by only 3 MPods on that new base. The bracing also looks minimal with very few hasteners on the back plate. To me, this looks like a small floor stander. I agree with madfloyd that if that top enclosure is for a midrange, it would be a tall speaker because the tweeter is always around 41" off the floor. However, there my be room above that for the tweeter and it is just hidden my that CF enclosure.

I'm still thinking M2. MPro and Q7 use 4-point out triggers and this one will have tripods. Magico is probably thinking a best seller rather than another assault on the state of the art design.

If its a tall slender speaker it would explain the forward tilt on the base. Directing the high frequencies down toward the listening area.

I think this is a S3 like speaker that's taller. Would not anything the size or weight of a Q7 sitting on that small base.
The 400lb Wilson Benesch Cardinal sits on a 3-point tripod, so this could reflect a change/refinement in design philosophy from Magico.

You could be right. Here is a design sketch for the WB Endeavour showing the CF midrange enclosure..

This WB's drivers and enclosure are small and housing is also very narrow. Maybe the reason why tripod is okay.

I'd think anything bigger than M3 would need 4-point system, given how Magico has been employing MPODs on MPro, Q7 mk2 and M3.

The driver looks more like bass drivers (2 spiders?), quite robust, from the sketch. I also don’t see how the top enclosure can be for a tweeter, it is much too big. It is probably a midrange enclosure. I am thinking M5...

That's true, but the first point to make is the WB Cardinal weighs 400lb (180kg), which is 80lb heavier than the M3's. Magico has also refined the tripod outrigger concept since it was first introduced in the M3. Hence it seems plausible that a tripod support with M Pods could work on a 400lb + speaker.

05.05 was the clue. It has to be M5. But the earlier suggestion of an M2 at half the price of M3 would get a lot of cheque books open I should think, including mine.

It says 05.2017, which probably just means May. [emoji4]
