Magico M3's Have Arrived!

Do they have any weakness at all? [emoji16]

In my case, they cause insomnia. [emoji6]

For any room under 25' x 35', not that I'm hearing. That new midrange and tweeter = perfection! Bass is tight, defined, natural sounding and goes low. If they can do what they did in Magico's big 24 x 35 room, then no weaknesses that I'm hearing. I absolutely love them. Best cone & dome speaker I've heard in my home - by far in 35 years. Now, Q-Sub 15's would only enhance an already terrific speaker as we heard at Magico.

There is no doubt, the M3's have a very engaging, musical, Je ne sais quoi.

I'm doing a demo today at 11am. I'll let you know what he says.

My M3 cherry is going to be popped tomorrow morning when i'll be spending a solid hour in my Dealer's treated showroom listening to the M3. I'm also giving the new Marten Mingus an audition...can't wait! :exciting:

Melbguy1, did you get the chance to audition?

Hi Alectiong, yes I had the opportunity to audition the M3's on the weekend paired with a Dartzeel CTH-8550 fed by a CH C1 dac & Digibit Aria Piccolo server. The speakers were just in a temporary setup running in & still on their castors, so I didn't expect too much. But I have to say I was impressed all things considered. I'll be curious to see how much the M3's improve once they're run in & on their spikes :skeptical:.

Melbguy1, you seem a bit underwhelmed by first impressions [emoji848]

I don’t understand why dealers will show speakers like that?
If they can’t give you the experience you need to shade $75K on a pair of loudspeakers, what are they there for?

I am guessing that most dealers cannot spike or place something like the M3 in a fixed position unless it is for a special demo evening. One of my local dealers has about 6 rooms set up with speakers. Even then he has to be agile enough to move XLF's, Alexx's, Aida's, 800D3's, and occasionally Lilium's or Strad's into the "prime" location for a individual to audition. Some speakers do not like to be moves around on spikes or MPOD's.

I do think that at this price point, dealers should have the speakers properly set up for an optimal audition, unless he expects the speakers to sell by themselves. I guess most prospective M3 buyers are Magico owners already.

As my post tried to state, yes he could set them optimally if that was the only pair of high end speakers he is trying to sell.

I got the impression from what Melbuy stated in his post that he understood that the M3's had just come in and were in the break-in process before being set up in another location. Not uncommon if the dealer wanted to run them in 24/7 with SS before setting them up with something else that he wouldn't want to leave running for days on end like a high dollar tube amp. He had the option of waiting until that process was complete before going in, but if he just wanted to see if the Magico's M3's sound profile suited him enough to consider an upgrade before he moved on then he accomplished that and can go back once they are in their fixed location to determine if he wants to purchase or trade up.

Spot on! Well all except the upgraditus ;).

Well since yours can only be a couple of months old that is completely understandable and also that you just wanted to hear the new kid on the block.

I'm wrapped with my S5 Mk2's & plan to keep them a long time, though it's always good have a reference point from which to measure where you're at.

I did! Lots of tube goodness! Also had my new VAC Ren 5 preamp on with the 200iQ's.

Curious to hear your thoughts as to how the VAC compares to your other amplification. My M3's are at the dealer's store, and I can't accept delivery until our renovation work is finished, which is going to be at least another 2-3 weeks! It's killing me! (I'm also hoping not to have to start shopping amplifiers!)

Wow! Congrats on the M3's!! You're in for a real treat. They ooze musicality.

Wow! Heard the M3's over at Mike's' today! Truly Magico! Stevie Ray Vaughn was there too!
Could have sworn it! The bass and wall of sound they project is amazing! The hairs on my arm stood at attention!
I was expecting some big honkers of a speaker but no! Very good wife acceptance factor.
Well my wife drew the line years ago at my big enough to be buried in, his and her Infinity QLS-1 speakers that are long gone.
I have a bad case of speaker envy, but condo living does impose some limits, and luckily for me, with Magico size does not matter so much as my little S1 Mark2 in my small listening room/office sound very close in quality although maybe not quantity. At least that's what I'm telling myself! Lol
Congrats Mike and thanks for the demo!

The M3's Look so damn good. Can't believe I have yet to hear them.

Hmmm, do I makes some room by selling something off and replacing them with M3's or do i just go to Mikes Home or RMAF???

Best case scenario - All Three :)

At least I have MPods coming for my S7's, that should be fun.
