Thanks guys. Really really really really love these.
Ken - yes, Lampi. All my other DAC's are out on demo loan...ah hem...Carlos, Anthony....ahem. [emoji6]
They make you just want to listen. So freaking engaging.

You've spiked the speakers already Mike? Very nice setup! :thumbsup:A video as promised!
You've spiked the speakers already Mike?
I'm still impressed with the compact size. Those of us who are under-endowed (in music room size that is) have been left out of the state of the art speaker world. Not any more.
Mike - I didn't see anything in the user's manual about torque settings for the compression bolts. Did I miss it?

Listening this morning to Tracy Chapman and some Dave Grusin. Organic, natural, soulful, real...are words I would describe the M3's. My toes are tapping - big time.
The M3's have their own unique sonic signature - in a very very good way. Magico detractors must give the M3 a listen. They do not sound like any other cone and dome speaker I have heard, including any Q or S series. Nobody is going to say there is any relation to the Q3 for example. The M3's sound somewhat like the M Pro, but even the M3's sound very different in their own very unique and special way.
Congratulations Mike. I'm curious about your comments about the M3 sounding different from the Q3 and MPro, my two favorite Magico speakers. Did you compare these speakers directly in the same room and system, or are your comments more based on your general impressions over time hearing them in different contexts?
Could you describe how they sound different and in what contexts you heard them and how do you expect you M3s to change during the break in process?
Are you going to hook up an analog source to the M3s at some point?
Congrats !
The more you guys post abiut the M3s, the more I want to buy them, lol.
Mike, how to remove the castors ? I'm ready to spike my S5s.
Thanks Peter. They are really incredible. I could be wrong, but I don't think anyone has compared MPro's with any Q speaker and M3's in the same room. For me, I'm going off of many listening sessions to Q's and a few listening sessions with M Pro's and having owned S5's, S5 mk2's, S1 mk2's, S7's, etc.
The M3's just don't sound like any other speaker. I can't put my finger on it (yet). They have all the good things Magico delivers, but also an incredible amount of natural, organic, as Bob says, "soulful" sound. I just don't know it is (yet), what exactly is doing what and why and quite frankly, I don't care. They just sound so good. The MPOD's I'm sure are doing their part, but this is a speaker that is so engaging, I have to pull myself away. I know it's only been two days, but you get "lost" in the music. I'm not getting any real work done today!
I will probably hook up a TT later on as I for one believe playing vinyl helps with the break in process (the rapid movement of the drivers when the album is playing). I have owned more than 30 pairs of speakers and I will say these are the best sounding right out of the box I've ever owned. Period.
I will say this: the M3 will bring traditional non-Magico buyers into the fold. People who had previously dismissed Magico based on listening to Q3's or Q5's, will want to definitely give the M3's a good formal listen. They produce music so organically that I can't imagine they won't appeal to more people - left brainers and right brainers alike.
Congratulations!!. May I ask about the bass extension? Does it go low enough? Which Vitus amp is it that you are using?

Mike, can the Vitus SS-103 drive and control the M3 to a concert sound level in class A or should it be switched to AB?
Do you think SS-103 or SM-011 would be the better partner for the M3, and since the demo at Magico was with Solution, could you, and others that have heard both, compare the M3/Vitus and the M3/Soultion presentation.
Thank you!

Mike-Can you explain what you mean by that comment about "the rapid movement of the drivers when the album is playing"? Are you talking about how the drivers flap in the breeze even between tracks on some LP setups?
