A reviewer friend of mine who heard the M3's told me today he found them "very organic sounding."
I couldn't agree more!

Very subtle woofer flutter. I don't have perfect isolation in this room.
Thanks Mike. Woofers that are flapping in the breeze from the time the needle is dropped until it is picked up is not a good thing. It is a sign that something is amiss and it robs the amp of power by the useless pumping that is going on.
Congrats on getting the M3 speakers. I hope they are great sellers for you.
Great to read the positive initial thoughts - excited to hear them at RMAF. More organic nature is always good![]()
Mike,
I may have missed it , but could you give a us a synopsis of your current M3 setup , amp/pre, source, cabling , et al ...

My M3 cherry is going to be popped tomorrow morning when i'll be spending a solid hour in my Dealer's treated showroom listening to the M3. I'm also giving the new Marten Mingus an audition...can't wait! :exciting:
The M3's just don't sound like any other speaker. I can't put my finger on it (yet). They have all the good things Magico delivers, but also an incredible amount of natural, organic, as Bob says, "soulful" sound. I just don't know it is (yet), what exactly is doing what and why and quite frankly, I don't care. They just sound so good. The MPOD's I'm sure are doing their part, but this is a speaker that is so engaging, I have to pull myself away. I know it's only been two days, but you get "lost" in the music. I'm not getting any real work done today!
I will probably hook up a TT later on as I for one believe playing vinyl helps with the break in process (the rapid movement of the drivers when the album is playing). I have owned more than 30 pairs of speakers and I will say these are the best sounding right out of the box I've ever owned. Period.
I will say this: the M3 will bring traditional non-Magico buyers into the fold. People who had previously dismissed Magico based on listening to Q3's or Q5's, will want to definitely give the M3's a good formal listen. They produce music so organically that I can't imagine they won't appeal to more people - left brainers and right brainers alike.
Maybe they should be called Sonus Magico instead of just Magico?
The way you're talking I'd have thought you had plenty of wood. There's no wood in sight!
