Hi,
I'm a musician/ audiophile. Recently, I have been helping someone sell some Mcintosh gear that belonged to a friend and I have the MX110 in possession.
I love it. Any critics must have bad ones. This unit is truly musical and magical.
I want to know from anyone with experience what to be careful with and what to expect. I have enough experience to pull tubes and replace them without smudging lettering, and making sure all controls have been turned and switches switched for cleaning the contacts. Spraying hasn't been needed yet.
My concerns are more along the lines of concerns about power supplies and any caps that are suspect. At this point, none are.
The only weird thing is, the volume doesn't go all the way to silence. A slight sound is still audible.
Currently running through the 2105 and a pair of B&W 704s.
Sounds quite decent.
