Lumin

The bug fix for Lumin App is when browsing Tidal and under some circumstances the App will force close

I was having that problem too and the new update fixed it on the U1

I am having another issue with my U1. 44.1pcm upsampled to dsd128 will not play with the lampizator. When I set it at dsd 64 it works fine.
Also the 44.1 to dsd128 settings on the U1 works with roon on my ipad with the same file.
Any ideas on this ?

Which are you using: SPDIF input or USB input?

Roon is not supported yet. Please clarify this usage / configuration / scenario if possible.

Usb ....

Roon is thru airplay so Im not sure exactly how that works but the Lumin A1 must be converting pcm to dsd for the sound to work thru the lampizator dsd engine.

I suppose you mean Lumin U1.

Lampizator comes in different configurations, and yours supports DSD only and does not support PCM, right?

How about playing a DSD128 music (not using Roon or AirPlay) by U1? Does that work with the Lampizator?

The Lumin U1 with the Lampizator is excellent. Works like a charm and the Lumin U1 upsamples PCM to DSD.

Okay maybe I did not write this carefully enough.
When using my Lumin U1 with the Lampizator lite7 connected using usb. I am having an issue playing 44.1 pcm upsampled to dsd 128 using the lumin app. Dsd 64 will work but not 128. The only reason i mentioned the roon airplay was that the dsd 128 seiing in lumin app played that way. My lite 7 has both pcm and dsd , but was set to dsd.😀

Richard - consider the computing power required for 44.1 to double DSD. No wonder you're having some hiccups. Consider DSD64. I have done my own testing and heard zero difference between 44.1 up sampled to DSD64 vs DSD128.

Mike I understand what you are saying and it makes perfect sense. Using dsd 64 instead of 128 is fine and im sure sounds the same.
I love Lumin the A1 was a great player for the 3 years I had it. It is just a little distressing that when the Lumin site says "Using a new dedicated LUMIN U1 processor adds upsampling and downsampling for every supported format – all the way from 44.1kHz to DSD128 and DXD – providing maximum DAC compatibility and optimization" it does not seem to be working on my U1. I got the lumin over other playes for its ease and the fact that it would upsample dsd to my Lampizator. If it cannot do 44.1 to dsd 128 okay. I just want to make sure my U1 is working the way it should. Its not a hiccup but absense of any sound at that rate,

Mine does 44.1 to DSD128, but I have seen the odd hiccup.

Im sure it does. I was getting hiccups at 64 and 128 and a wired 4 sound recovery got rid of them. So it might just be some usb cable and power experimentation to get it right. I love what I am hearing out of the Lumin U1 and Lampizator combo. I just didnt want to miss anything.

Richard, does your U1 play native DSD128 music successfully through Lampizator?
