lumin and linn, nothing looks better:)

hey, flemming, cooool!!!
i know how hard you were fighting for this unit. enjoy it my friend!

Congratulations Flemming! Indeed, the X1 is a terrific digital music player. Good looks, easy to setup, excellent support from Peter and Lumin and, best of all, great sound. Enjoy!

Thank you everyone , and yes its a really good digital player , and will be interesting too see how it developes , with more hours on the unit.....i will for sure try the SFP as its fairly inexpensive , and i am a curious person so i will for sure try it out. So far it is simply great and i really enjoy the " insight " to the recordings it gives me as well as still being musical. :)

Another happy owner of an X1 here. Made the jump from a U1, which is no slouch at optimizing the stream into my previous DAC. The X1 is an excellent streamer/DAC. Recently connected via SFP and so far so good.

Low325 , Congratulations with your X1 , you will be super happy with it. I just added the remote to my Lumin as i am now using my Accuphase-470 with its amp section only, and use the Leedh on the Lumin X1 which is amazing. And the remote control is really good quality , easy to set-up and enjoy.
For SFP i am thinking more and more to upgrade my switch ( Dlink ) to a Sotm as it has the SFP build in.

Thanks Flemming! Besides reading the reviews on upscale for the X1 remote, I supposed i didnt have to go far to get a valued review from a forum member. I am considering the remote as well. While my Diablo 120 isn’t a true fully balanced amp, I’m choosing to use the XLRs for more gain. I guess I can use the RCA out from the X1 and bump up the Analog Level from low to normal to make up for the extra gain…as I am cross posting this, I will have to do that one day to compare sq gains. But not now, already enjoying it too much.

I like your idea integrating SFP with a SoTM. The audiophile-esque extras should benefit the SQ.

The X1 is an incredible streamer/DAC. How many X1 owners are using it as both streamer and DAC. If streamer only, which DAC have you found that outperforms its DAC? I keep going back and forth between using the X1's DAC and using it as a streamer connected to my Lampizator Big 7. It's a close call, but all in all I like the dynamics of the Lampi DAC. I perceive I'm giving up a bit more detail offered by the X1's DAC, but the dynamics of the Lampi seem to be preferable to me. First world problems, I know!

I’m able to use another dac with the slightest of effort if needed for 2CH listening. It’s the optional DAC in my Diablo 120. The X1 DAC has more detail with the extension up top just sounding so open but never stressed.

For about a week, while I was waiting for my XLRs to arrive, I used the X1 just as a pure streamer and found it to perform and sound just as great as my U1. The DAC in the Diablo is no slouch. I think the performance in a solid steamer like Lumins top tier optimizes any external DAC, especially at an equal or higher price point than the streamer portion itself.

If I were to do it over again, I wouldn’t hesitate to buy another U1 or X1 to use as a steamer again into my Diablo. Once I get the X1 to fully burn in, I’ll put more effort into critical listening. I know the Diablo dac can only be used in a Diablo so it’s not really considered ‘standalone’ but just goes to show it’s about the implementation.

I'm using the X1 into my Diablo 300, I don't have the Gryphon DAC like Low325 so using the X1 as streamer/DAC and I'm very happy with what I hear.
