Lumin has updated their warranty policy for the U.S. Please note there are some Lumin dealers trying to get users to buy add-on products that require modification of their Lumin's. Dealers who have your best interests at heart would not do this just to make a few extra bucks. Modifying any Lumin will COMPLETELY NULL & VOID the warranty as per the update below.

Lumin USA Warranty Update:

Lumin USA provides a warranty only on products imported by Lumin USA or Source Systems, Ltd, and sold only by our authorized dealers as new equipment.

Lumin USA or Source Systems, Ltd, in the USA will not service product under warranty that have been opened by end-users, modified or altered.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION ON MODIFIED PRODUCTS!
Products modified (or “Modded”) by third party companies render Lumin products unserviceable by us.

Modifying products immediately voids all warranties from Lumin in the USA.

I would assume this is going forward? I bought a D2 about 8 months ago and recently converted to the Sbooster external power supply. Does this mean I have no warranty? By the way, the difference is unconditionally immediately dramatic.

That Lumin does not take care of a team touched for me is acceptable, and I see nothing wrong, but ... a recently purchased equipment and not taking charge is wrong. I had a problem and Lumin never solved the problem, after 1 month of talk with Li On nothing was solved. I am very upset, but I love Lumin teams so I don't want to go into the details (at least for now).

The problem is that Lumin cannot be responsible for what some dealers are pushing with respect to after market mods to their Lumin’s. Using a GigaFoil is not a mod. Making changes to use a different PSU IS a mod. Lumin cannot be responsible for every knucklehead idea out there - especially one that changes the PSU.

By the way, his name is On LI. And did you make a change to your Lumin with the PSU mod?

Hi Mike, thanks for writing. My story with Lumin is another. It has nothing to do with changing the source. Although it hurts and I am not satisfied with Lumin, I do not want to publish my problem, and I do not want to make anybody dirty, I only wrote because it seemed to me, that they were not fair to me, if you are interested I send you a private message and I will tell you. Regards.

Sure, please do. I know you’re outside the U.S. and I can only worry about my clients here, I am still curious. I know the guys at Lumin to only be stellar awesome guys.

If Mike, I am from Argentina, I understand perfectly that you have nothing to do to solve my problem, I will tell you privately so that you know what happened to me. Thank you

No doubt it is a mod. It consists of unplugging the included PSU and plugging in a new one to the board. No soldering, just a plug. Ultimately if it voids my warranty, so be it but I don't think you can change the rights of a consumer after the sale though... Bottom line is, the Sbooster makes a HUGE difference to the D2. It is night and day and undeniable....Jim

Glad you like it, but to be clear, it voids the warranty and Lumin has been very clear on that and a dealer that recommends this mod and does not make you aware of the affect on the warranty, is not doing you justice. Anything that connects to the board can affect the unit, especially a power supply. But ultimately consumers need to weigh the pro’s and con’s. Again, glad it works for you.

I'm very sorry for the trouble you experienced.

However, I need to emphasize that it is impossible for us to ship a seriously scratched unit with a seriously torn bag. I assure you that the unit is 100% new when we shipped it, not a used unit as you suspected. As everyone who has asked in public or to me privately knows, Lumin does not sell used units / B-stock units. And every time someone asks if they can upgrade their old models to new models, I always answered no. So it is impossible for us to have used units for sale.

Someone must have seriously mishandled the unit to scratch it seriously. Since your shipment involves a third party designated by you but located in a different country, that complicates matters.

Another troubling issue is that your photo shows that the Lumin A1 footer is modified. Since a scratch is on the bottom of the unit, if you really think we shipped you a scratched unit you should not have changed the footer before the issue is dealt with. If you have not changed the footer yourself, the third party you chose somehow did something to it unbeknownst to you.

Hi Wklie, thanks for writing, although I would not like to talk about it in public, I must respond to your message. It is not the first time that I bring equipment from another country to Argentina, I always bring them through the same company (which is a distributor of other brands) I never had a problem, the equipment I bought in perfect condition arrived. The legs of the Lumin were never modified, buy legs of the Bfly brand and paste with a double fas tape, it is a paper with glue on the 2 sides, the Bfly are glued to give more body to Lumin, I stick them and I do not have nothing to do with the rallones of the A1. Yesterday I sent an email to Nelson, I already understood that this has no solution. This message will be the last on this topic. I always try to get and learn something good, within the bad things that happen to me in life. What happened to Lumin will be no exception. Best regards.

Hi friends, i have made a mistake which I have recently realised. I want to clarify that the Lumin team offered to change my equipment, but the way they wanted to do it cost me a lot of money. Therefore I apologize for the Lumin team for not clarifying this before.I wish that each of us could enjoy his equipment of this amazing brand. Kind regards.
