This is likely the first preview of TIDAL support for LUMIN from a Hong Kong web site, using a pre-release firmware:
LUMIN* TIDAL -AvBuzz

Major points from the article:
1. Since Lumin app is not ready for Tidal yet, BubbleDS Next (on Android) is used. (Tidal app cannot be used to control Lumin)
2. Audio quality is good (44.1kHz 16-bit FLAC)
3. Using Tidal on Lumin is convenient and flawless in the author's test
4. The author is not impressed by BubbleDS Next
5. (For Hong Kong) Subscription price in web is lower than in app
6. (For Hong Kong) Many Chinese characters in the songs in the Tidal song database became Mandarin Chinese phonetics in English

Today I've received confirmation directly from Lumin that official support (firmware and app) for TIDAL should be available during 1 month.

Hi Mike,

When they say Tidal support, what does that mean? Does it mean that we would be able to stream Tidal through the Lumin ipad app?
Thanks,
Anshul

4 Me it means, that You can choose Tidal as a music source - music library (in cloud) and navigate it via tablet/phone etc.

Sounds like great news. Would like to get more clarity on how it is going to work and how it has to be setup.

And, yes, I'm ready!

The SQ of streamed Tidal (via Sooloos) has been excellent so far. Meridian users have identified a couple of glitches with "our" Tidal integration. It looks like I will be keeping both Rhapsody and Tidal subscriptions for some time. I have identified several discs available on Rhapsody not yet available on Tidal. I would check out some tracks you are interested in to see if the are there.

Jim, this is great to hear. As a side note, speaking of Meridian, a good friend of mine got to hear MQA and said he LOVED it. He felt it has the potential to be a real game changer.

Simply enter the Tidal username and password into the app, then one should be able to access albums / artists / tracks previously marked as favorites in the tidal account, or search for others, then add them to the Lumin playlist.

Internet access and Tidal subscription is of course required.

I am looking forward to hear MQA. All my digital plans are on hold 'till I get to hear it. Also Roon being released by the original Sooloos developers could be important for other hardware manufacturers.

Cool! Thx!

Thanks, I already enjoy Tidal. I can't wait for the upgrade.

Firmware 6.00 and app 4.0 are out. :celebrate008_2:

I think native Tidal support for Lumin offers these benefits over Tidal - AirPlay to Lumin:
1. Gapless
2. Mixing of Tidal and local music into the same playlist
3. iPad can be offline if necessary

(Android users can try Bubble DS Next)

I am going to let the early adopters upgrade first, and then if there are no issues I will update this Saturday. I have private firmware now that fixes a nasty bug in my S1 when I first got it.

App 4.0 limitation:

To search Tidal properly, please input _lower_ case
