My Lumin D1 arrived Friday. Joe came by today and we put it into my second system. We were both shocked at this amazing D1. First of all, it is just about plug and play. No NAS. I just connected a hard drive to the USB port, plugged in an ethernet cable, downloaded the Lumin app, and I was up and running. My Library was right there....Tidal is there, internet radio also, and it found my Sonos. My interface is my iPad and it is intuitive and and trouble free.

As for the sound, it definitely competes with the Lumin T1 and I'm betting it also competes with the A1. Sweet, musical and grain free….so musical. I think the Lumin D1 is the bargain of the year. Retail $2000. I did buy an external power supply which retails for another $400. I can't believe what a great deal this piece is.

Awesome Bruce! Another happy customer!

OMG! Mike, it's awesome. Bruce thought he'd have a little trouble getting it going but I told him I was on my way to see him. Once plugged in correctly and everything powered on, he was up and running in no time. A firmware update and speaker setup later, the Lumin was ready and playing sweet music. I was floored. I can't wait to get mine going now.

I bought a D1 a few weeks ago. And it is GREAT!!!!!!!!!!

It's a good value with the included power supply but I had a Ken Lau power supply I bought for a Lumin L1 server and with it I truly think it with the upgraded Ken Lau power supply truly somewhere sound wise between the A1 that I used to have and the S1 that I own 2 of in 2 systems. I've never heard the T1 but when I was comparing the D1 with Ken Lau PS and the S1, with the Dag pre/power amp going into Raidho D1s. It was very hard to tell which was with in an A/B comparison. I could 97% of time identify them but only because I'm really familiar to the differences between the A1 and S1 that I've had compared before since i young the A1 2-3 years ago.

I am seriously thinking I will sell my 2nd S1 and replace it with the D1 and PS. So if anybody wants a deal on an S1 - let me know. :)

I want to also add that Ken Lau has a new PS especially for the D1 and also an super PS for the S1. BOTH of which I've ordered and will have in the next few weeks. Who knows - all opinions might change once heard.

Congrats on your D1 Bruce!

I'm ecstatic with my S1. These players sound fantastic, look great and are so easy to setup and use. And, Lumin is doing a nice job with the software improvements. Oh, let's not forget the Tidal interface - so freeking easy!
