Which iPad / iPhone models are you using? (Unless you want some new feature from iOS 13, you don't have to upgrade.)

iPad Mini and iPhone 7. The iPhone is at 13.3, but the iPad is at 12.4.4, and says it is up to date. Both devices work fine with Lumin X1.

Older iPad Mini 1/2/3 are no longer supported by iOS 13.

Lumin app requires iOS 8. (Roon Remote app requires iOS 11.)

Hello, I purchased a new Lumin U1 Mini last week and I have an Android phone (Samsung S10). The Lumin App worked the first time I used it last week but it has stopped working. It seems to be stuck on one song. If I choose another song it will show at the top in the app for a few seconds then revert back to the original song. Sometimes that original song will play and sometimes it doesn't. I can not use the streamer. What do I do at this point? Will an Apple iPad work better? Thank you

Is your music placed in MinimServer, or USB thumb drive?

Please reserve an IP address for the MinimServer, or Lumin (respectively). Reboot the respective device, and re-create the playlists.

Hi Peter, thank you for getting back to me. I forgot to mention that I am using Qobuz exclusively using the phone, no thumb drive or server. I am brand new to streaming and I'm not very computer literate. I'm learning about this stuff as I go but when it was working everything was easy to use.

For Qobuz, please add different 16/44.1 non-Hi-Res albums from the Top albums and retry at non-peak hours.

Please also make sure your Qobuz subscription payment details are valid.

It's too bad I can't listen to Qobuz in Hi-Rez. I purchased this unit for this purpose. Is there another streaming service that works better such as Tidal? Would an iPad work better? Thank you for getting back to me

I have been running Qobuz for over four years on two different streamers running Lumin software and have never had an issue with Hi Res or any other type of file playback. Many more issues with Tidal. If you are determined to use the Android app, IOS version is better, then try deleting the app from your phone then shut the phone down completely and re-boot it. Then reinstall the Lumin app fresh and try it. Nothing wrong with the Lumin app or Qobuz themselves.

If you try the Android phone app again let us know if wiping it out and reinstalling works. Also just be sure that your phone is on your houses network and not defaulting back to the cellular network WiFi. Also some of the ISP's like Comcast are having over use issues now in peak day time hours that may make playing standard resolution files easier to play than HiRes ones.

No, I don't mean you can't listen to Qobuz Hi-Res.

Since it's not clear whether it's a Qobuz download speed problem, internet bandwidth or an Android app bug or something else, what I said was just tests that may hopefully narrow down the scope of possible causes.

Are you using USB connection to DAC? Which DAC model is it?

Please also disconnect the USB, power cycle both the Lumin U1 MINI and the DAC. After Lumin is booted up, reconnect the USB.

Thank you for all your responses and help. My new iPad Air arrived today and my Lumin U1 Mini now works flawlessly. The iPad display is much better too and everything works much smoother. I am using the Lumin in a headphone system consisting of...Audeze LCD-X and Focal Clear headphones, Schiit Mjolnir 2 amp, and Schiit Yggdrasil Multbit DAC. I may also use the Lumin in my Pass Labs/Audio Research/Focal hifi system but I'm enjoying it with headphones for now. Thank you again

Congrats, glad everything is now working smoothly. In most cases the Android versions of streamer apps seem to be hit or miss depending on the brand of phone/tablet used and how close to the Google standard that manufacturer sticks in their implementation of the Android software. The streamer app developers have to pick one version and work to it.

Possibility of showing Qobuz pdf booklets.

This is added to Lumin Android app 3.0.3. Tap and hold a Qobuz track (not album) to see if there is an associated PDF booklet. UI wise this is not ideal, but owing to the Qobuz API we cannot add this function when you're just browsing the albums without going into a specific album to see the tracks.

I don't buy Apple products for personal use either, even though I have to tell customers to buy an iPad. We have recently hired an experienced Android software engineer, and fixed over 50 crashes of Android app very recently, and I recommend you to try it. Not that it won't crash, but at least it is usable now.

You don't have to use Lumin app on Android. One of the distinguishing advantage with Lumin is open standard compliance and UI choice. Even if you don't like Lumin app, you can use Linn Kazoo, Bubble DS Next, other UPnP app, or Roon to control Lumin hardware.

Among our competitors, one of them takes a fully proprietary approach. You have no choice in app. When your next smartphone OS upgrade breaks their app (however unlikely that may be), you have no other alternatives.

Another competitor used to have an Android app, but abandoned it. Some of their customers use Lumin app.

Anyone here can comment on using Linn Kazoo?

I thinking of purchasing an Apple Ipad 2. Good enough to run the Lumin app?
