Imagine you met someone that had never before heard live, unprocessed music. This person has only heard music on a reasonably good 2 channel system in a good room.

What adjective would you use to describe how live music sounds different from reproduced music?

I'll start with "effortless."

I guess it depends on the music and venue.

If it is a Buddy Guy concert, I would say Way too Load (wife was smarter than me and used cotton while my ears rang for 3 days)
Many other places would be described as Distorted

Now I am guessing the OP may have meant Live as in no amplification so I would say 'correct', as in tone and timber.

I intentionally modified live with "unprocessed." I know that's an obtuse word but I thought it would at least eliminate a large portion of live musical events; eg. Stadium Rock Concerts.

I couldn't use the word "unamplified" because I've heard too many excellent symphonic performances that had a very small bit of amplification for a vocalist, even in an incredible venue like the Dallas Meyerson. I would still call that live and unprocessed.

Michael.

Hmm, I would describe "live music" as "alive" or "living/breathing" just as the name implies. I could also call it "spirit" or "energy", but the same can be said of recorded music if one is sensitive to picking up on it.
