Do you ever take the LIAR test with a new piece of gear?

LIAR = Listen In Any Room

Do you see how your speakers located in your listening room sound when you go into other rooms?

I have all my gear in my living room, which is open to the kitchen and dining area, so I hear it whether I'm sitting down or in the kitchen cooking.

Music/stereo in bedroom, sometimes listen in kitchen and depending on the gear can sound superb, like live, or not as good.

I bring this up because I had my listening room door open as I was waking about the house and I literally stopped in my tracks. I thought Diana Krall was in my house! That has never happened before.

In that case ....next time put "Shakira" or "Rihanna" Cd in your player....and just imagine....Awww.....

I'm with Mark. The room my gear is in opens to other rooms in my house so I can listen to music from wherever I may be. I don't know what it would be like to have a dedicated music room, and I'm not sure that I would actually like it.

Mine has a dedicated room but is in such an open layout that we can hear from the kitchen, familoy room, through the house...Not the upper bedrooms...but 90% of my listening is in here...

Welcome Chuck!!

You only lie about speaker purchase?.. For me it's all audio related :)

Yeah..I dont lie...I just umm..hold back part of the truth about packages arriving...like "Oh thats just some cheap parts"...Cheap is relative so I aint lying ...LOL

Very true Mike, I got the exact same impression when I eavedrop the music from another room....somehow it sounded better than first front row seat, especially upstairs.

I've had the same many a time as my computer is in the office off the stereo/theatre room. The room is also open to the rest of the house on one side so music floods the whole house. I quite frequently find myself thinking MAN that sounds good & it's around about that stage I go & sit in front of the speakers to listen some.

+1...music should be shared with everyone.
