KT150 amps

My Quicksilver Silver 88's with KT150's hold their bias extremely well and their 90 watts drive most any speakers with grip and authority.

I always wanted to try Quicksilver amps. Never read a bad word about them.

Dan, thank-you, they sound effortless & deliver with such ease it would be forgivable if you were to mistakenly think that they are a ss. They take everything in their stride from delicate passage to very complicated pieces as if it were trivial. I think I just convinced myself to keep them for another 2 years :D

You really need to give them a listen, I think you would be very surprised. And its nothing like picking up the phone and speaking to Mike Sanders should you have a question. Nice people there.
I'm sure that they are wonderful. Maybe after the holidays, I'll reach out. Once some gear sells, I'll have more options. Time to go for some reasonable priced gear [emoji4]

I would be keen to see a subjective ranking of which KT150 based amps really sound good and which ones to avoid ?

I am keen to upgrade from my ARC Ref110 to a ARC Ref150se but is there anything better than the Ref150se at the same price ?

Any advice & comments will be welcome !

The ARC vsI75 is shipping with KT150s. I am loving mine driving a pair of B&W 805D3s.

There's a YS-Audio company in Hong Kong that makes KT150 amps. The boss is well respected in local community and has decades of experience making tube amps. Each product is build to order. I believe it is not known outside Hong Kong and Taiwan.

(Edit: I read that the amps are tested with Wilson Audio Sophia 2 speakers.)

Top-of-the-line model is listed first:

An interesting thread. I believe that the Quicksilver Mono 120's are optimised for KT150's and I'm told they are a significant step up from the previous Silver 88's with KT150's, although I have not heard them. I'd be interested to know if anyone on this forum has heard them and what their impressions were.

I have the Quicksilver Silver 88's with KT150's and they sound great. I haven't heard the Mono 120's so unfortunately can't compare.

I have a current set of Quicksilver V4 Mono amps with the new output transformer. I love them. They sound great with the KT150's also the Sophia KT88-ST's.

if nobody's mentioned it yet: Trafomatic EOS+ and Noa. And i strongly suspect they're great.
