Kondo ONGAKU

2 x 27W @ 5% THD?
Ever tried Mahler or Yello on it?

For $75k I'd buy a pair of Constellations and a professional distortion generator (just for the time I want lots of second harmonic to please my ears).

Thanks to all,

I will try the 2nd and the 3rd of Malher too this week end but I'm sure will not be on the market monday morning..
I will also post some pics if someone tell me how.

@Howie It is a bit heavy to bring along with me on vacation:hey:
I would love though to A/B with the UK one.

Now I have to live because I need to learn how to cook potatoes in a hundred ways.

Analogically yours,

Congrats, certainly a dream amp.

Still have vivid memories of sitting in the Kondo room at the Plaza hotel in NYC around April 2013. I did'nt wanna leave. Digital was good but there limited edition/discontinued TT rig was off the charts good. Pretty sure they were using Bobs from Rhapsody's personal unit since one of there 90k 211 Kagura Monos were lost in transit. Good news is I came back on Saturday, and the Kaguras (spchk) were there and also sounding magnificent.

WOW!! Congratulations. I am jealous!

I can't believe I did it!

1995, pristine condition, serviced in 2012 by Kondo (JPN) with change of tubes (Nos GE 211) actually, they have less than 500 hours of use.
Delivered in its original crate. One former owner only.
Excellent trade in with my Nagras VPAs and I broke the money box!!

To early to edit a review, but I will after closer encounter..

Never give up your dreams!

Thanks to all for your congratulations!

I am addicted.
Every night it's a pain to switch it off!
The LV are singing like never.

Right now on the TT Gould BACH Toccatas vol 2 CBS 76984
Absolutely beautiful to listen to, in the dark with only the glowing tubes.
Perfect music at almost midnight...
Tomorrow flea market close to the sea and maybe one or two interesting finds..
(Last week a Joe Cooker on Capitol records. On the cover, he looked like he was 20 years old..)

Kind regards,

Congrats - I've mostly heard the AN UK amps but I have enjoyed the Kondo amps I've heard on the second hand market and in audiophile homes - I do think there are some differences depending on taste and what you're going to run with them. People can debate about which might be better but like most things it would likely come down to synergy and what you're after. Indeed, people choose 300B over 211 and others choose 2a3 or 45 over all of them. I like the 211/845 as all rounders and I love the EL84 OTO Phono SE on the less expensive end of the spectrum. One thing I like about living in Hong Kong is being able to get more access to more gear relatively close together.

My target amp for awhile has been the Jinro or Tomei but I'll likely go the separates route
