The tweeter is now made of pure beryllium, which is the next best material to diamond. Furthermore the speaker is equipped with a 7-inch Kharma Composite Driver (KCD), which is based on a new cone technology especially developed by Kharma. The double 9 inch aluminium woofer equipment

This is the gear that I heard the Classique speakers with at a demo for the ARC REF DAC & the PASS XP-20. My impression was that they were a very accurate neutral speaker with a great sound to them. A tad dry for my tastes though.

Thank you for the input...I agree with your neutral speakers but I didn't find any dry though.

I guess things to do with gears as well.

Paul,

Are these for you or a "friend"?

Ha! :)

I heard the DB9-S recently at a reviewer's home. He will be doing an upcoming review of the DB-9. I heard them with a Karan SS amp and Thrax 70 Watt tube amps. The Kharmas sounded great with either combination of electronics and for me personally really came alive with the tube amps, but that usually happens for me with good tube amps and almost any speaker that can be driven by the tube amps.

Very cool Bob. How would they compare to Raidho's?

Hard to say because different rooms/systems, but in general I think that the Kharmas are more similar to Wilson, Magicos etc., vs. the Raidhos. Not saying that they sound like the Wilsons or Magicos, but the Raidhos have that 3D holographic thing going on with the ribbon tweeters, and the other mentioned speakers, which I believe are all great speakers, present the soundstage differently than the Raidhos. I guess it's Monday morning and the "OLD brain" isn't quite working yet as that's the best I can do with an explanation.

The Kharma soundstage was layered, 3D, pin point focused images.....love them with the tubes....ok with the SS, but not as good as with the tubes for me.

I would say that the fit and finish on the Kharmas is A class for sure. And with the proper electronics and set up would be right there with the best of the best in this category.

There are SO MANY great speakers imho at this point........:exciting:
