Moved to my current location (central eastern FL) a few years back. Just picked up a lightly used Lumin U1. Have not had much time with audio lately as I've been dealing with lightning damage and the related fringe benefits of dealing with the insurance company:rolleyes:

Phil, welcome to the forum...feel free to dive into the forums. There are lots of sharkies, but we don't bite!

Btw, you're not the famous Australian cyclist Phil Anderson are you?

Last thought...don't walk into Mike's audio store...unless you want to get seriously bitten by the bug!

Welcome to the forum Phil, thank you for joining. Sorry to read about the lightening strike. Hopefully all will be worked out in the end.

Hi fellow Floridian!

Mike - thanks - have looked at your posts here and at the Computer Audiophile a few times. I do know guys in the Suncoast Audio Society (and also heard good things about you from other sources) and will make it over that way at some point.

Welcome to AS!

Insurance companies suck!
Thanks
I have not dealt with them in a bit and I'll get through it one way or the other. I don't mind paying for something with the expectation of getting what you paid for (e.g. service or a product and service). I wouldn't even mind as much if they sent an adjuster (even if I didn't agree) vs. ask me to do their work for them (and the people I'm dealing with are 3 hours away) and have a bad attitude.

Thanks so much for the warm welcome. Noticed your posts in the EMM/Meitner forum. Just got back my DAC2X from the version 2 upgrade (for use with the U1 - trying to catch up with stuff - just moved most of the damaged crap to the dining room) and was going to send off my Meitner MA-1 but probably will wait at least for a bit and get thru the current crap. Moved the MA-1 to my secondary system for now. Still have done basics and listened little to any of the systems recently dealing the stuff and now I'm editing file lengths for JRiver for 2 PCs and two Windows 10 music servers. Then I need to work on the U1 (it says there is a firmware update available from 8.02 to 8.03 - believe it is for DSD) renaming jpg files to get it to pull in the artwork on tons of things and learning about it. Took me a long time to get through this purchase. Got my NAS just over a year ago and was not successful in being able to get an audition of some things. Don't normally wait that long once I'm ready.

Don't believe everything you hear :P

1)
No not the cyclist but I probably can walk and chew gum at the same time:D

2) It is on my agenda to get to Mike's store. It's too late for me. I had my first separates in the late 70s (when I was 5 years old of course:D)
I had some guys over in the Space Coast Audio Society (and may have a few over next week as were are going to someone else's house first) and it's been the majority opinion that I'm either a dealer (with multiple systems all over) or I'm completely crazy, with most leaning towards the latter:D

I like you already! Birds of a feather...
