JOB 225 2-channel Power Amplifier ... update ...

Hi Bob

it's interesting you mention about the heat dropping. I've read a few mini reviews from customers of the Job 225 where they also mention about the heat output diminishing as the amp breaks in. I never noticed a change in heat output of the amp but it certainly is a possibility based on others comments.

Joe,

I am going to ask my Goldmund tech guy in SW. I will let you know when I hear something back, just out of curiosity, if nothing else.

Thanks Bob. I'm dying to hear your Goldmund 280.

Joe, I think that you will be surprised when you hear not only the T280 but my current set up. It really has me scratching my head. I have been doing this stuff for a long time, like yourself, and the sound that I am getting right now is very special. Really looking forward for you and anyone else to come over for a visit and hear it!!! I would love to hear your system(s) as well. You will see once you come over, I'm really not trying to sell stuff here on the forum. If you end up wanting to buy something then sure I will sell it and service it to the best of my ability. But I just love all of the great equipment and experience that both you AND many of the other members here have. It really is both a very knowledgeable group of members and so nice. Again, I said it earlier, I am so glad that I found the Shark. Have a great weekend!

Hi Bob,

Thank you for your kind words. I can not tell you how much we appreciate your participation here.

OK Joe,

Just for you. Lol

I stopped by the JOB guys this morning and even saw the first prod. batch of the universal voltage Job 225 (hand built stuff). No pix allowed yet, but they will be ready in like 2 weeks. I hope to get an official invit back to Goldmund soon, so that I can do a similar profile at PTA.com or mono&Stereo.

Very impressive facility and the older vintage stuff they had on hand was also impressive. The demo room was extraordinary too. More anon.

Wisnon...THANK YOU, BEST NEWS FOR MONTHS....you make us all believe we will have a chance of also being able to order a JOB 225.
Or shall I put it this way....there have been no factory news at all you break the ice Thanks a zillion from Sweden

Great news. I can't wait until these gems are shipping again. A little tip for current and future Job 225 owners is to replace the stock fuse with a Furutech or Liquid Nano and strap yourself in fot a wonderful audio ride. It really takes the performance up big time.

Thank you Norman for the updates. How lucky are you to be so close to Dartzeel and Goldmund? Please let me know when you get to hear them.

Will do Joe.

Have you tried the Synergistic Research Quantum fuses? I hear the blow the others away on other gear.

McChicken, for sure you will be able to order one soon. I saw at least 30 of them being assembled by hand. It is a slow process as they are retested repeatedly at several stages. Joe didnt really let us know how TINY they are! Its like 2 to 3 times the size of a Mytek dac or double the size of a MacMini and they have one torroidal transformer.

This new version will have slight improvements over the old one. Colour me impressed.

No marketing info yet as they are still hush-hush and no pictures allowed.

I have not tried the Synergistic Research fuses but will now. Here is some idea of scale of these little amps.

Sounds like a cheap and good improvement...BUT what fuse type is it in the JOB 225, so I can also order a fuse when ordering the JOB

...Here is some idea of scale of these little amps...Thanks Joe nice set-up for sure.
I love the "Stealth Look" of The JOB....so unimpressive until you turn it on...Like David vs Goliat

Joe, do see you have a Sonos* unit there, have you tested to hook up-the Sonos directly to the JOB 225, as that is my intention

*I have a Hopped-up Sonos from a German "Guru" named Dr Gert Volk, that "Fixes Sonos, Naim, Linn....and so on streamers. Dr Volk has up-graded my Sonos output signals both Analog and Digital. I do have some explanation of what he does in English but could not up-load that PDF here. and the Aktives-hoeren DOT-DE G-Mods is in German ( a forum for Active speakers) The Streamer up-grades is a side business to his Active Speakers Mfgr with prices starting from ( out of my reach) + $ 20k aktivgeregelt DOT .DE

You will not be disappointed.

I think it's a 4A slo-blo small 5x20 fuse. I will check again and repost here to make sure you have the correct info. I will be ordering the Synergistic fuses.

I turned a friend onto one and he can not believe how awesome it sounds.

Yes. I have a Wyred4sound modified Sonos. It is a superb piece. I have gone direct from a dac through the Sonos but not the Sonos direct. I ALWAYS prefer a preamp in my system. I like the sound quality the preamp adds to my system. Not only do I get everything upsampled to 24/96K but jitter is virtually zero. I get music from all over the world and I can stream my own ripped cds through it. Amazing!

ps McChicken you need 10 posts before you can private message or post photos and pdf's. 3 more to go. Thank you for joining the forum. I appreciate you being here.

Hmm. I'm not knowledgable enough to really understand the modification my Sonos got, but I know less Jitter is one if them, I am also trying to have as little gear as possible that is why I like (good) active speakers. I have to confess that I mostly listen to Streaming music ( read Spotify) and I know that the quality is sub-par if compared to the FLAC I have on my NAS. But I listen to so much new (for me/ released) music that there is no chance I can D/L all of it.

BTW; I am on my way of starting an "Inspirational Blog" for Musicians / Producers and people who like / are used to Multiple Rhythms and advanced Harmonies ( R&B, Jazz, Electro, Fusion, Indie...) I am myself a "washed-up" Musician / producer /DJ, and want to give something back to people who have inspired and giving my life greatness.

Shhhhhh. Don't tell anyone, but I do too. With my modified Sonos, which is probably very similar to yours, the sound quality for all but the most critical listening sessions is wonderful. Plus I can stream any of my music at full or better than cd quality. Amazing!

Good luck with the blog and please keep us updated on its progress.

BTW, What's your first name?

Joe,
Sorry I'm so fresh here so I have not even written my profile yet. My name is Nils ( Neil), and from Sweden
I can't live without my Streaming gear ( Spotify + Sonos) it is too convenient. Can listen to my Spotify playlists in my car (Bose), office ( Bang & Olufsen), On the road ( Parrot Zik Bluetooth headphones), When DJ-ing (Any request) It's a dream come through for any music lover.

Nils,

So happy you are here. Thank you.

I agree. I am the same way. I love the variety on Spotify/MOG/Pandora.
