Jay's Audio Journey

Demo #1 of 3 is now live.As always, headphones for this one if possible. I tried hard to level match volumes and recorded things at 1am (you'll see me put the iPad in front of the camera to prove it) in order to have the least amount of AC noise.
Please vote on the poll i have posted so we can see how everyone is feeling about both presentations.
I also encourage you all to listen multiple times and not just once in order to capture what's happening. Some say to listen at different times of the day because videos sound different (try it for yourself).
Enjoy!

Hey Jay do you know if that Rouge is ICE, Hypex or Purifi based? Thanks

Amplifier | Rouge Audio Design | Roma

Looks like they have models which leverage various board designs from all 3 plus Anaview depending upon the model.

This Italian company seems to have a lot of great things going on.

Google is pre-biased towards sending people to "Rogue" Audio on searches for "Rouge" Audio.

I love the comments by various people of the form...."Presentation X is <list of negative attributes...> MUST BE THE DIGITAL AMP"....

When will they ever learn?

Jay I know you have no love for class D but there are three major amp modules this company offers. ICE, Hypex and Purifi. From my experience they all three are sonically different. Knowing what you are representing in your video would be helpful. Thanks

The class A amp may never be disclosed on my channel. The class D amp amp is this:

Just watched the Youtube regarding Pass Labs products.....Ouch!! It was a bit painful as I'm a big Pass Labs fan. But, it's like you said, Jay, it's just an opinion. And unless I'm wrong, most of your comments were directed at the higher end components (separates) of the Pass Labs line.

When I was putting together my system I auditioned seven different amps before deciding on the INT 250. I actually auditioned the INT 60 but wanted a little more power. And the INT 60 and INT 250 sound very similar. In addition to the INT 60 the amps I auditioned included the Gryphon D300, VAC i170, Hegel H390, Moon/Simaudio 340 ix, NAIM Supernait 3, and Luxman 509X. BTW, I noticed you really liked the INT 250 on an earlier Youtube video.

It's always been interesting to me how different ears hear things differently. I sincerely mean that. But I couldn't be happier with my INT 250. I think it's an awesome sounding amp. I plan on keeping it for a very long time. It has outstanding synergy with my Harbeth Super HL 5+ 40th Anniversary speakers.

But I have high respect for your opinions. You've been at this game a whole lot longer than me. Keep up the good work, Jay. I really enjoy your videos. I've learned from them.

FWIW, I included a link below to a fairly recent review of the Pass Labs INT 250. IMHO, I thought Steve Huff was pretty much dead on with his comments. Very positive review on both the INT 250 and INT 25.

Absolutely nothing wrong with Pass Audio gear. Typically great sounding at its various price points. Extremely reliable with excellent customer service. Enjoy your system!
