Its just not fair

So after 3 years of playing with equipment, working on, fixing, playing and selling dozens of turntables, tube amps, etc....well, for the past several months, my system is complete. Nothing to add. Nothing to change (don't want to). I mean..half my fun is gone. Its just not fair.

Oh I know, I could buy some turntables, fix them up and sell them...but not the same. Keeping them is not an option..I only have the need for two and I have what I need.

Tubes? My tubes are exactly what I want after going through a ton...I still have multiple sets.

Cables? Done

Power ? Furmans - Done

Cartridges ? Done

Anyone ever experience this...you build and build and you finally get to where you want and poof..where did my build fun go ?

Yes..I fixed and sold audio for the last 5 years then reached my goal. I still keep a few of my favorite TT's around and swap them out from time to time. I have ALL I need right now. Now on to playing music and doing some serious listening! :)

Enjoy the Music, that is why we are here.. ;)

Other than some minor tweaks here and there, I've been "stable" for several months now, and other than swapping out a DAC, it's been probably a year+ of relative stability.

For me, it really is a double edged sword. I just love messing around tweaking, listening, tweaking, upgrading etc. But, all that messing around while fun, is stressful in a strange way.

Those times when I sit and enjoy the music without ANY thoughts of "hardware" far outweigh (for me at least) the fun I have messing with hardware.

Unfortunately, I'm a hacker at heart, always tinkering with something, computers, motorcycles, photography (there's always a new camera or lens to buy) etc.
So, as much as I enjoy the stress of tinkering, nothing exceeds my enjoyment when not tinkering. Unfortunately, and I'm always on guard for this, even when the system is stable and I'm enjoying it immensely, the next great upgrade pops into my mind, which immediately diminishes my enjoyment of music at the moment.

Having said all that, Our Super Moderator Joe, (bless his heart) has got me thinking about new amps, and I've got those kid-at-Christmas butterflies already. yeesh.
