Hello all,

I'm living in Romania, best known for Count Dracula but a wonderful country overall (too bad it's populated).
My audiophile journey started about three decades ago, with the unavoidable ups and downs of great (or poor) decisions and plenty of holes in my disposable income.
Right now I get my daily shot of music from the following:
1. Sources: Esoteric UX-3Pi (used only as transport), Magnum Dynalab 106t and Pioneer LX08 (just for BD movies).
2. DACs: Chord Electronics Indigo and MSB The Analogue (will have to return one of them, still do not know which).
3. Amplification:
Chord CPA-3000 (to be sold if keeping the Indigo) and Chord SPM-4000.
4. Cables: Siltech SPX20 power cables (funny thing the high-frequency power supplies inside Chord electronics work better with stranded power cords), Siltech Golden Ridge digital, Siltech G5 interconnects and Audioquest Gibraltar speaker cables (soon to be replaced by Siltech or Ansuz - budget permitting).
5. Power conditionind & others: Audio Power Industries 116, highly modified Aavik racks, Stillpoints (under transport) and AQ sorbothane (under tuner).
6. Room tuning: none whatsoever! I intend to get a pair of Vicoustics Multifuser Wood 36 (stacked) or a Vicoustics Wavewood Pro 120 for the first point reflection on the left wall.
7. Miscellania: great wife, no problems with spending/room treatments. BTW, the right speaker covers about 1/3 of the entry into the living room, and her only comment was "it definitely sounds better like this"!

My music preferences: mostly standard (no experimental) jazz with a hint of old timers' rock, a little bit of classical (no opera or Mahler, please) and some bouts of electro, disco and "oldies but goldies".

Glad to meet you, folks!

Welcome to AS!

Thanks Etunes, glad to join the shark pack!

Hi Bob,

BTW, I lived in Canada for six years (time for a PHD in communications - coding and cryptography - and an MBA). I never visited Vancouver but I understand it's somewhat foggy there.
Hope the imaging of your audio system doesn't get fuzzy?

Hi Ralph!

iosiP is simply "Pisoi" written backwards!
In Romanian, pisoi means a male kitten! You see, both me and my wife are "cat fanciers": we have a Russian Blue and an European (politically correct for "unknown origin") cat. We love them both equally, and nothing feels better than a cat purring in your lap while listening to Dave Brubeck!
So ours is a cat'n'roll home!

N.B. Too bad Halcro went belly-up, I loved the sound...

Regards,
Costin

Welcome to Audioshark:audiophile::audiophile: Would love to see some pics of your Russian Blue;) They are beautiful cats.

Just this one, for the time being (I'm not at home). Will post more when I return, including her photo on the Chord preamp - she likes it when it warms up :)
