Tom

If you go the FedEx website you can have them leave the Nucleus at one of their satellite locations like Walgreens and then you can pick it up later in the day or evening if one of the locations is near your work.

I think if I was that close to hearing it I'd be plugging something into that DAC.

What patience, when they hear about Tom they'll be wanting that cool in the next Bond movie.

Tom, patience is a virtue but most audiophiles aren’t, stay strong.

And if you have an iPhone with a USB adapter, plug it in

Hey guys! Got everything hooked up and ready to go. Still waiting on the Roon Nucleus. Was supposed to be here today but will very likely show up tomorrow. Problem is I have to work tomorrow afternoon and Wednesday afternoon. Might be playing tag with the FedEx truck the next few days. That's why I was hoping it would show up today. Oh well, it'll be here soon. I've waited this long. I can wait a little more. Mike has been wonderful and very helpful. He has lunch or dinner coming next time I'm down that way.

Congrats Tom, pictures!

Hmm...I might look into this. Except it's likely already on the truck and on it's route for today?? If I knew for sure it was coming this morning I'd just wait for it. When the shipment came in yesterday it was supposed to be "at end of the day". But it came about 10:30 AM. Today, I have until about 12:30 PM when I have to go to work. Same with tomorrow. I'll check with FedEx.

Just a quick update...I downloaded the wrong thing (Roon Essentials). Mike has me on the right track. Huge download though. Could take some time. I'll have music sooner or later. Hopefully not later, ha!

It’s good to hear you’re making progress getting everything set up, Tom.

When you have time, don’t forget we all love pictures! Even just well-lit, steady-handed smart phone ones. :)

Still having difficulty getting the Roon Nucleus (Remote) to recognize the updated download. Our IP tech is coming to our house tomorrow to see if he can help. We just replaced our router about 6 weeks ago and he thinks that might be the issue. We'll see. I'll call Mike and have him talk to the tech. I'm sure they can solve it. Might have to force the download. Man, I can't wait to to hear some music on this system!!

One thing to check is make sure your Roon Core (Nucleus) and Roon Remote unit (Android, iPad, Windows Tablet, Computer) are on the same wireless band. Most routers have multiple bands (2.4, 5) and I have found sometimes they don't interact if they are not on the same band.

It is.

And the Grammy for patience goes to...drum roll......................anticipation builds..................and the winner is...........................Mike Bovairn of Suncoast Audio!!!!! Things don't go well with DACs when the router's wired and wireless networks are not on the same band. Did I say that right Mike? Anyway, I'm sure the IP tech will get the network/router issues sorted out. I can just hear the music already! :celebrate008_2::exciting::yahoo1:

Tom, what does this mean?

Are you saying that the Roon Nucleus itself is getting a network connection but a software or code update is not recognized by the Roon device?

Or...

Is the Roon device itself not recognized on your network at all?

Mike B. might have to help me with this, but...the router's wired and wireless bands (Is that the correct term?) are not on the same network. It's a network/router issue and not a DAC issue. Hope that makes sense.
