I absolutely love my MC601's. McIntosh make great gear and it so musical. I still want MC1.2KW's or 2KW's but it's only a dream right now.

I feel the same way Joe does. Breaking in the 601's and putting those Tesla tubes in my 2500 has taken my Mc rig to a whole new level. I'm curious about the 2kws, but I've owned the 1.2kws already. They were good, but the 601's have the new Mc sound - more dynamic, faster, punchier, but still retaining that smooth top end and full bodied sound.

Don't go with the 2k
Is more like them that with the 601

When you say you put new tubes in a 2500 are you referring to a MAC c2500 preamp, or something else.

Another rec for Nikolay. I have purchased 8 tesla tubes from him over the past couple of years. They are the best 12ax7 equivalent tubes I have tried. Really improved the sound of my system with both the McIntosh C2300 and now the C500T.
