When the Cipher was installed they connected the stereo outputs and the also connected the multi channel outputs.

But I don't have a multi channel SACD disc. I love traditional Jazz. Can anyone suggest one?

I'm sure Bob will have some suggestions. I have some surround SACD's and a BluRay and it just isn't for me. I enjoyed quadrophonic sound in the 70's - but surround sound for pure audio is just too engineer dependent and just "odd" to listen to.

But it's fun to try and experiment and I know many out there - including Kal
Rubinson love the surround sound experience - especially for classical.

To each their own I guess.

Mike, I have about 35-40 SACDs. None are multi channel but I thought it would be fun to listen to one and to make sure my player is working perfectly!

Barry, like already mentioned over at WBF; Telarc Jazz, Concord Jazz, and you can even check my sig (2nd line).
...Just click on SACD/Hi-Res at the left (2nd from the top).

* Concord Jazz has some multichannel SACD samplers that are only few dollars; they're all great, and you'd love it!
...And the same with Telarc (Multichannel SACD Samplers : Jazz). ...And extremely inexpensive as well.

Here's another link: http://www.sa-cd.net/alltitles/21 ...From the DMP record label (all Hybrid SACDs: Jazz).
{Scroll down a bit for all the multichannel ones.}

* Here are some direct Jazz selections, and which I personally own (samplers good for you):

** And this one too:

{And yes it is also an Hybrid Multichannel SACD / Jazz.}

Nicely done Bob!

That's great stuff. I can't thank you enough! It
will be fun to hear these in 5 channel sound.

I knew Bob was "da man!".

Thank you guys!
-- It is nice to feel appreciated for the time it takes sometimes to get exactly what an OP is asking for. :cool:
...In this case here, Barry. ...For some Multichannel SACDs JAZZ, so that he can check his system, and have a view on the overall Jazz "feel" in surround sound.

* It took me over an hour just to build that single post (#6). ...Just sayin'. :)

** And the beauty of it is that other people might benefit too. ...Even for different purposes.

*** So your 'tanks' are truly positive as it encourages me to stay on and even improve the audio path of communication. ...And that drive you give it to me, right here. ...At other places (audio sites) I don't have that same energetic drive, only here.
Simply put; share my very best, and always, to satisfy people's searches whenever I can. ...Or; give my contribution.

We have a great 'ocean' here (site), and with extremely friendly, respectable, helping, colorful, lovely, cool and exotic fishes swimming in it (people, sharks and all); it's worth it to make the best out of it, and with all of our love. :heart:
...Because that ocean spreads to other oceans, and to all the lands of the entire planet; our planet, to all of us, EARTH.

Jeez ... I mean Jazz, amazing what music can do to our brain! :D ...Music is the healer. ...Of the soul.
...Everywhere.

Again, I appreciate the time and effort. There are two things I should mention. These comments make it fun not work. It's great to hear from people who have real experiances and love the software as well as the hardware.

sadly, as good as amazon is, it's not like you can go into a store anymore and maybe hear a cut or two. Also, in ny all the jazz stations are gone. There is wbgo in no, but I don't get it. So it's fun to discuss these things
