How Many of You Are Totally Satisfied Right Now?

New guy here.

I should say I am fairly satisfied at the moment. This was not the case even just a month ago. Satisfaction level was maybe 40-50% a month ago. However, with the firmware update of my DAC - the DCS Vivaldi, the whole character of the system changed for the better. So, one thing led to another. I had ARC ref40 as linestage to tame the brittle highs of the Gryphon amp with the DCS. Unfortunately, I suffered from a lack of bass using this configuration. All this changed overnight. I swapped out the ARC & back in goes the Gryphon Pandora.

Fast forward a couple of weeks. I then focused on putting more diffusion along the front wall & side walls behind the speakers.

Things improved for the better again.

I see you a have Cadenza Bronze on the VPI. Perhaps you can check out the Koetsu Blue Azule. Matches well with the 3D arm :woot:.

Joe, ARC wouldn't be my first choice in front of Gryphon, love the mattresses around the room.
 
The bass problems were caused because the higher impedance of ARC is not suitable for the low input impedance of SS imo. I suggest a high current, low impedance valve pre, for example VTL 7.5
 
So deeply happy with how music sounds in my main system, and in that sense satisfied.

So curious about how certain other components might sound in my main system, especially DACs, which leads me to further exploration.

Satisfaction and curiosity both coexist and counter each other in me.

Dave, who finds curiosity one of his prime motivations in many areas of his life certainly not just audio
 
Very happy here with Zellaton speakers and DAC Cherry amps with 30v power supplies. Best that I have ever owned in 45 years.
 
Totally happy? Is there such a thing? :D

I'm thankful for what I have, and I look forward to whatever the future holds. :)
