High-end Munich (á la Perfect sense | Stockholm)

Absolare accompanied by Rockport Technologies has belonged to the strongest shining stars during the Munich show during recent years, with numerous "Best in Show" awards from leading reviewers worldwide. This year, Absolare debuts both their new monoblock (push-pull, 85W/8Ohm), but also a new two piece phono preamp that has been under development for several years. Cables (Echole) and resonance management (Stabilian) is also the fruit of Kerem Kucukaslan's solid work.

The result is a musical experience that breathes realism with a rare sense of naturalness. A wonderful contrast to the surprisingly large proportion of sterile and uninvolving systems at the show.

Oh yes I love it on my Harbeth 40.1.
My Shindo amps are in an other league but the Nagra has its own personality and sounds amazing.
Did you listen to the new Classic 120 ?

Sounds great Jerome!

I only listened to the new (protoype) monos as part of a full Nagra system and Wilson Alexia speakers. Sounds (and looks) promising - no doubt!

I do really like the designs used by Rockport, they seem to do a nice job, The Absolare amp is gorgeous. Have you seen the VTL amplfiers, the look is new to me, a new model? Luke is out in full force for sure .......

Regards.

The finish, look and feel of the Absolares are one of a kind. I haven't seen any new VTL amplifiers at the show...

Hyperion, great photos

You mentioned that you saw the renderings for the new Wilson Benesch floorstanders in the Geometry series. Do you know if they will replace the ACT C60, and was there any indicative price?

The Gryphon Diablo 300 looks amazing too!

Cheers, and enjoy the rest of your Munich visit!

I can't tell you more about the new floorstander at this point I'm afraid... That said, it will be very reasonably priced. I'm predicting great success with this new model.

Thanks. Luke did say that the press release would come out in June so we'll have to wait. Your initial thoughts are quite encouraging though.

Good things comes to those who...:) The new floorstander sure looks amazing at a proposed price point that really surprised me!

Boenicke is one of the smaller and most interesting European (Swiss) speaker manufacturers during recent years. What Sven (Boenicke) creates with his massive CNC-milled wooden cabinets is special. These are small speakers with a soundstage much larger than expected, which partnered with great dynamics and a very natural tonality creates a lifelike and very engaging experience!

Hyperion - I am loving your wonderful pictures and really enjoying your thoughts and feedback. Wonderful job!

Like others, I'm definitely looking at going to Munich next year.

Kaiser Acoustics unveiled a maximized version of their amazing Kawero Classic speakers over the weekend with external crossovers. Together with four mono amplifiers from Swedish Engstrom & Engstrom (The Lars) and D / A conversion from Total DAC, they created one of the shows most talked about, seductive and touching experiences!

Any chance to get some info on the rack, Hyperion? Looks exactly like something I'm looking for.

Beautiful photography, BTW!

A nightmare to photograph, but a true joy to experience. The Wilson Benesch / CH Precision room is one of the most impressive at the show. Neither words nor photos can do the level of engineering and finishing of these magnificent products the justice they deserve.

Wilson Benesch was debuting their R1 rack series. I have to tell you that nothing comes close in relation to engineering, build quality and finish. I'm saying that with the deepest of respect for Stillpoints, SRA and HRS.

CH Precision has completed their C1-series with the new P1 phono stage, which looks as promising as everything else from this cutting edge company.

Both these companies are backed up by the nicest and most supportive people in the business by the way.
Totally agree. CH stuff is gorgeous.

Would love to hear your thoughts on gear that you get to hear at the show.

Thanks for the great pictures. Are those the Sonus Faber Amati Futura's in the new black?

Hi Mike,

not sure you already received an answer. Yes they are, and they sounded great in every aspect: huge soundstage, sweet presentation with good bass and liquid mids. I like those speakers!
