The difference is you aren't paid by companies to ban people like you-know-who while they allow paid shills to run rampant. That's a big difference.
 
I've enjoyed WBF and think there are some friendly, knowledgeable folks there. Some of the discussions are worthwhile. Seems to me there are a handful of folks that are arrogant, self-appointed know it alls that you have to wade through, but that's life. I hear about the paid shills, but they are not named very often and I don't know how to apply.

Between the paid shills and the "reviewers" getting free, ultra expensive, very cool, goodies, sometimes it seems that only the truly slow-like me-actually pay for this stuff.

I did get a Bending Wave hat at CAF which I wear around town. Its a very nice hat.

Looks like they did it again today to protect AXISS Audio and Soulution from that shitshow Ron started about them and the Soulution debacle a few weeks ago.

Look at the before (top) and after (below) photo of what was posted and what they deleted since it didn't fawn over one of their paid sponsors.

Thanks Mike for not being like them and so easily bought and paid for!

As a banned member myself (dont enen know why) you make me go back there to have a look.
It is a great site and sure was a lot of work to build it up and keep clean from you and me

I agree - I go back from time to time as well for a good chuckle.

Numerous people have posted here on AS that they were banned after simply saying they didn't care for a particular brands piece of gear that was a paying sponsor on WBF.

I look at it this way: if you've been banned from WBF that means you did something right. :)

Oh yes. There are at least 5 to 6 arrogant people keep arguing the same thing over and over again. It is like Groundhog Day.
 
I hear they are going to have Captain Shill himself on "Not Ron's HiFi Five" show.

Can anyone confirm this?

Talk about being tone-deaf about topics if true.
 
I see that Doug Schneider is making a return appearance and that's enough for me to watch. He was an excellent guest previously, and demonstrated that transparency and objectivity is possible in the hifi media, even though it is regrettably rare. I'm sure SoundStage is not perfect, but is the leader in the clubhouse in terms of credibility as far as I'm concerned. Also seems to know his stuff and is willing to challenge audiophile orthodoxy. Looking forward to his insights.

I've enjoyed reading many reviews on SoundStage over the years.
 
FYI I have started a new solo youtube channel called the audio patriot. I as of yet don't know how to do a lot of what is required so the videos are shorts and they are raw and unedited. I have someone coming to set me up for more advanced tricks in April and I am planning on doing a bunch of interviews with the companies and designers that I represent as well as some educational video's abut room and gear set up. If this is of interest then please find , watch and sign up.

I still think you should have kept the HiFi Five channel. It was your idea, your channel and you simply gave up the audience you had built up over months of shows needlessly.

perhaps but I had enough fighting and arguing> I thought I was involved with people that shared my passion and were loyal like I am . I can build another audience and do what I want to do if I want to do it.
I do not believe that others saw my vision and my ideas and that is what I want to do going forward.
Will it work? time will tell. I now don't have to answer to them or anyone else so that is good for me.

Part four: So you want a pizza. How serious are you about what you eat? Frozen is pizza will that satisfy you? Are you just lazy and Domino's or Papa John's bering delivered is that eating pizza? We all can recognize them as "pizza" but for me these are items of just food. Food I eat only because of convenience and no other options. Audio to me is the same way. When you listen to music with ear buds in a crowd , or a train, or in a gym, or on a plane that is music and we know what it is but it lacks to me the the ability to enable a response. The exchange of feeling, the energy and the passion that the artist spent all that time trying to create and convey. We ar eliving in the golden age of audio. A time where we have the best sound reproduction gear ever made yet many are still listening to frozen pizza. When I was a kid we had only sa few options. When I listened to music it was a choice and not something I did with the TV on, or my phone , or an Ipad, or a laptop. I was engaged and involved with the music and the transfer of energy and passion from the artist to me. If this didn't happen then I was listening to the wrong thing. Let's be real we listen to music to engage that's why we go to a concert, or at least why I do. If the artist can't engage me then I find it boring and I want to leave. That is what they try to do they want to illicit a response from the crowd and from each individual. The best bands, groups, orchestras and artist do this and its magic. I want the magic , as much as I can get in my listening room. Concerts have become shows and many are really expensive and difficult to get in and let's be honest as we get older we enjoy crowds and traffic etc. less. I miss the small concert experience and still try to go and support that scene when its available to me but I am not longer into the hockey rink /stadium thing. So getting back to my point Audio also has frozen pizza. Audio also has Domino's and Papa John's but audio also has so much more. Audio has the small batch , hand made, with the best ingredients, price and distance no object that you can obtain if you want it. All audio is not boxes and fancy knobs and shinny chassis and lacquered finishes. Great Audio is about all the ingredients, all the small details to to be able to transport the listener to hear all the work and effort and details that the artists fought for when making that slice of history called a record/album etc. I choose that everytime. Its not that its expensive, although it can be , its all about the details and the experience to know how. If you seek it out, you can find the level of engagement that you seek.

Just make the content you want to make and talk about what you want to talk about.

Ignore the haters our there because no matter what you say, do or talk about you are going to trigger some nitwit keyboard commando.
