I wanted to say Hi and join the forum, though I have been lurking for a couple of weeks. Partly thanks to the latter, I ended up purchasing a pair of Avantgarde Duo XDs, which should be here in the next few days! My previous speakers were mostly Maggies (3.6R->3.7->20.1->20.7) powered by a similar progression of Pass Labs amps (X250->XA60.5->XA100.5->XA160.5). I'm now excited about exploring the high efficiency Horn speaker world with different types of amplifiers. Rest of my gear is fairly simple with an old Auralic Aries driving Mscaler/Dave connected directly to my amps.

Looking forward to continuing to learn from the extremely knowledgeable forum members here!

As I’ve tried rotating in other speakers, nothing else compares to my Avantgarde Duo. Mike was right. It’ll take a heck of lot more expensive pair to best my horns. Especially a lot of my listening is late low level and moderate volume. These are perfect.
 
Nice another Seattle audiophile :-) BTW, I was seriously considering Alexia 2 (the Seattle Definitive Audio has two pairs in clearance) before dramatically changing my direction. Even the Wilsons would have been quite a change from my planars though :-)

Alexia 2’s on clearance? Are they dropping the line? New model coming?

Sorry, I should have clarified (and not start any accidental rumors) :-) It's in their clearance section, but I think they are just trade-ins from customers who were upgrading to larger models.
