Hi folks, I thought i'd say hello to all the members here. This looks like a friendly forum as the site sais. I'm just a pretty humble punter by comparison to some of the awesome systems on here. I own a pair of vintage Infinity Reference 40 speakers, a Nakamichi amplifier 1 integrated, JVC XL-Z1050 cdp & Cambridge T-500 tuner. My cables are Audioquest. My audio buddy told me to jump on here. Think he is hoping i'll get into high end, lol! He has a much higher end system (Vitus/Magico).

Cheers,
Tom.

Hello Melbourne! :hey: I ordered preamp/head-amp made in Melbourne :) Burson Audio Conductor Virtuoso, it should arrive in two days. :celebrate008_2:

My first speakers were Infinity Reference and my first cables were Audioquest, so there's some more connection between us :audiophile: welcome

Hi & thanks for your welcome mate. Over here, "mate" is how we affecitionately refer to our fellow Aussies, esp friends. I'm a little familiar with Burson Audio. My friend had his Ayon CD-5s modded with some Burson discrete op amps. They were the real deal :congrats:. Yes i'm still happy with my Ref 40's. They are emarkably good for the money.

I know that you use "mate" in a sense of "buddy" :) It's a Croatian version of Matt.

Welcome,

Nice to have another Aussie aboard (and a familiar name as well)
Thanks for the warm welcome Eggmeister. I post a little over at SNA, though mostly I like to read and learn from more senior guys. There are a lot of amazing systems on here! :disbelief: .

I couldn't agree more Tom, some of the systems here are incredible.

So different to the pond we inhabit in oz.

Yeah there are a few good bricks and mortar stores in Melbourne, but I bought most of my classic/vintage gear from o/s. I was lucky I bought my amp from a seller in Indonesia, so it didn't need to be converted to 240v, but the rest of my gear I bought from the US. Unfortunately I got into audio too late to buy my friend's gears :sigh:.
