Here I sit all broken hearted...

Doug, felt your pain. Had my system locked up in storage while my house was being built for about 1 year. Ugh.

You will just enjoy your system that much more when it comes time to take it out of the box!

Doug,

With the title of this thread, I thought you'd say that you paid a quarter and only ........ don't make me finish it.

HHAAA! Bob, try high 40's for over a week in the celsius

At least you live in a place smart enough to use Celsius and not that stupid Fahrenheit crap we use here.

Sorry, I have to make my rant whenever anything metric comes up.

GO METRIC!

Did you know that there are only three countries on the planet that have not adopted SI? They are the United States, Myanmar and Liberia. WE'RE IN LOUSY COMPANY. Write your congressmen.

I'm with you Gary. I remember back in grade school when changing over to the metric system was being considered. If it had happened back then it would be second nature by now. So stoopid! :what:

The reason Canada went metric in 1973 (I think officially on New Years Day) is because we said we were going to do it.

So I made it into my new place. Not so much new, since it is our "other" house, but more like installed with audio gear. My previous audio room was roughly 13x21 with an 8' ceiling. The new room is a great room and is roughly 33x24 with about a 15' vaulted ceiling. It's a bit overwhelming a far as trying to figure things out sound wise. I'm waiting on a new shelving system to arrive in a couple of weeks which should help with storage and reflections a little. Once that arrives I can start to put up pictures and paintings to fill in the space. I'll post pics once everything is in place. Nobody wants to see all my gear sitting on the floor! More to come...

...and internet service was installed today so I can be surfing much better now.

Doug, this is awesome! ...You are going to love it; you'll need bigger loudspeakers, bigger amps, more subwoofers, soundproofing, acoustical treatments, blah-blah-blah, and more money inside your bank account! ...Are you ready for the future? :D

My little 22 watt amp is doing surprisingly well in the large space. I don't think I'll need anything bigger, for now. :snicker:

There's just a lot more room for sound to bounce off of and the bass is suffering a little. Maybe new speakers are in order... :sneaky:

Wow, that sounds like an awesome room, Doug!

I've always had high ceilings (cathedral or otherwise) in my listening rooms before. Going to the basement I'm gonna be limited to 8.5 max.:( You should get great sound in that room! Congrats!

Thanks Allen. I'll post pics when things get more put together.

Hi guys this was the speaker i was going to listend to at the Montreal Salon Son Image - 2013, i had already heard them at T.A.V.E.S. 2012 but when i found out that Charisma was going to be in Montreal i told all my friends to come and listend to these speakers, well big surprise for me when i saw Bernard Li the Charisma distributor he told me that he didn't bring the Audio Exklusiv P3.1 because the room was to small all i can say is that it's one fine looking & sounding speaker BUT 15k before taxes that's a lot of money for that speaker but it did win BEST IN SHOW.:):):)

PS: If you like that speaker, you would love my modified Acoustat 1+1 for sure.

Would love to hear them to see how they tackle the smallish sweet spot issue typically associated with electrostatics. They look nice (and tall!)

Just out of curiosity...this great room, I am guessing wood floors ? I say that because you mention bass. One way to correct that is an area rug around your setup area and the speakers sit on. Here, I designed it for you ...LOL...its just to give you an idea no matter how you setup

Rob, there is a rug on the floor and I'm waiting for shelving units to go against the wall to house my audio/video gear. Here's a shot from the side for you.
