Hey all, my son has been playing guitar for around 5 years now and has recently expressed interest in upgrading to a tube amplifier. I joined the forum in order to learn more about them as I do not have a background as a musician. Cheers

a few thoughts -
Fender Blues jr (one with tubes), Peavey classic 30,
I have a Trace Elliot Velocette (but there's no reverb). No longer being made. It's got a nice clean tone for my arch top but it would need to be turned up pretty loud for distortion.

Welcome. Other than assembling a “Tode” guitar amp (no longer available) from Bottlehead, I’m like you: my son pays Bass Guitar. He has some smaller amps with small speakers inside, with several effects available. I don’t recall what kind they are.
