Hello WADAX

Wadax is a fantastic sounding line as is Esoteric. The list could be lengthened.

10 people in a room preferred Esoteric.

11 people in another list including Elliot who has great setup skills and builds great sounding rooms, preferred Wadax.

All this means is that many people prefer Esoteric and many others prefer Wadax, not that one is always superior to the other.

You cannot lose either way, they are both top of the charts. I've heard them both at reference levels many times.

if I didn't own Esoteric, I'd own Wadax, simple as that and may yet own Wadax.

These Highlander-esque sword fights, "There can Be Only One" in this hobby are total bullshit.

Expugh has a great system that just had a huge upgrade and I am extrenely happy for him! What a fantastic upgrade!

I was poking fun at the silly statement that that guy had to publish to try to ruin the happiness of Exupgh12 excitement to get his SP. I have had both products and I respect what Esoteric makes but the statement was IMO mean spritied.
BY the way as good as a SP is with the addition of the PS it is a major step up, its just a shame they are hard to get.

I couldn't put finger on it, but my local files never sounded as good as the Qobuz comparison. I tried Audirvana in the past, using it on my NAS but the limited computer power of my NAS kept crashing it. It is now running on a dedicated computer, along with ROON and I am not going back to ROON. Worth a try.

Sorry to hear that local files were not sounding as good. It has to be something in your server or setup, because locally stored files should always sound better than streaming files, with absolutely no exceptions. Internal files are definitely better than files stored on a NAS. Simple really, the signal is not going through anything extra, network wiring, ISPs, routers, switches, etc. Just simply off the drive to the DAC.

It sounds like you may have resolved that issue with a dedicated computer/server. Between Roon and Audirvana is most likely a personal preference. I have heard people prefer Roon and equal amount prefer Audirvana. Most have expressed preferring the Roon interface and meta data. Not sure your preferences in this regards.

Where the heck do you, as someone with 26 messages get off. In normal adult settings it is not considered appropriate to start throwing insults and snarky replies especially while you are still on a "trial" basis. Michael cannot help himself. He loves to throw Trump Denial Syndrome posts where he can. He seems to be a lonely sad man. Not a good bed fellow for you sir. Certainly not a way for you to gain much respect in a setting where you are the new kid. He should get himself some help...

I have been in this forum for a long time and we rarely have seen these type of non-sensical and inappropriate posts prior to his joining in and polluting our hi-quality forum.

When one member starts berating other members, especially when it is un-called for and especially when they are the new member, us old time members can and many times do step up.

I said nothing in this post about politics, about anti-anyone or any how. Honestly, that is exactly the opposite of my feelings. I simply stated, as a very long-term member, that calling other members names and "bullying" type messages has never been condoned or appreciated at the Audio Shark Forum.

You and Michael start throwing your diatribe insults and going as far as posting a message from another thread completely out of context. This bullying non-sense has got to stop NOW.

As a new member, on any other forum on the planet you would have already earned a lifetime ban. I suggest you start thinking very carefully about your future posts.
