Hi guys,
after dropping in so many times, finally I registered. I'm a music lover from Germany and as an amateur piano player I have a live-long background in classical music. I love a large diversity of musical styles, with a focus on Jazz, Folk, World, Classical and Electronic Avantgarde.
I got my first audio set in the eighties (Dynaudio Compound, Mark Levinson amp, Klyne pre, Linn Sondek LP12). The recent years I've upgraded my speakers (to Trenner+Friedl Pharoah floor-standers), my power amp (to a Luxman MQ-88uC) and my digital sources.
After three decades of solid state sound the Luxman finally opened my ears to the exquisite sound of tubes and I didn't look back since. The Pharoahs are not only real beauties but have the right amount of presence and detail to perfectly match the highly cultivated sound from the Luxman. A true pleasure to listen to. But what revitalized my audiophile appetite the most in the last years was buying the Linn Majik Streamer/DAC and Roon, which opened up whole new dimensions of music discovery and explorations.
So, for me, it is all about the music and its high-quality presentation. I'm looking forward to the discussions here and hope to get some inspiration from you guys.
Cheers, Manfred
