Hi, nice forum!
I've been a HiFi junkie since I was a kid. I'm a DIY kind of person at heart, I love to learn how things work and build stuff. This lead me to open my own Welding and Auto shop many years ago, then I moved on and finished my degree in Mechanical Engineering. I worked for Vestas wind turbine company in designing nacelle and hub assembly operations in Brighton Colorado before starting ZenWave Audio....
I love all kinds of audio and have a DIY SET tube amp and preamp with Omega single driver speakers as well as Pioneer S-1EX 3-ways with an Odyssey Stratos amp. I am in the process of designing speakers in cooperation with a some other very talented folks and hope to have that done by RMAF 2016.
Currently, I have a line of cables using wire custom made for me by Neotech, the only company who is currently holding a license to produce Ohno Continuous Cast (OCC) wire. My cables are centered around 2 types of wire... an Ultra Pure OCC (UPOCC) copper litz wire and UPOCC silver with gold added as an alloying element. These wires are manufactured to my specifications and imo, are the best copper and silver wires available today. I offer finished cables as well as bulk wire for DIY'ers who want to use the wire for wiring up components or making their own cables. If you check out the highest end, most expensive Wireworld and Siltech cables you'll notice they are made with UPOCC silver and cost about 5x what I am charging for silver/gold alloy that cost 50% more to manufacture, yet my cables cost a fraction of the price.
I also offer modified SurgeX power distribution and conditioning. These units, along with my PL11 power cable feeding the conditioner, were used at RMAF 2014 in the VSA room that won best sound of show, cost no object by TAS. At RMAF 2015 in the Vapor room we won a Positive Feedback Audio Oasis award, Enjoy the Music's Best Sound award and Tyson and Pez's Best of Show. Not a bad start... The SurgeX has customers like Carnegie Hall, NASA, Yankee Stadium, Boeing, etc... it's the cream of the crop for industrial/pro sound and video power distribution. BUT, it uses some parts that degrade the sound or are not optimal. I change out these parts and add an IEC inlet using top end Furutech parts, GTX(R) receptacles, FI-33(R) 20 amp IEC, pure copper connectors, better wire, better electrolytic caps. This makes for an excellent power distribution system with 20 amp capacity that will not negatively affect dynamics and offers you the best surge protection possible, something completely left out of most power distribution.
Well, that's it... Sorry for the long-winded post and I'm looking forward to learning what I can here.
