Hi everybody.Just want to introduce myself. I love good gear and great sound.I'm really into Vintage and I collect monster receivers and still listen to cassettes and vinyl but cd's are great too. I currently have in my stable,

Audio Reflex AGS-152
The last one is pretty rare.I have them all hooked to a speaker selector wired in reverse to a pair of RTR model 10's so they all get a work out.I'm also a member of Audiokarma and I've noticed a couple of other guys from there are here too.
 
Hey Dave, welcome to the Shark! I used to own an Onkyo 8500 Mk.II receiver many years ago, and I fondly remember it as a very well built dual mono design. Much better than most of the competition in its day, I used to drive AR-11 speakers with it which were known to be a very demanding low impedance load.
 
Welcome Just Dave glad you joined us, i still have an old Yamaha receiver, sony dual cassette deck and Klipsch Heresy speakers..now the garage system

Yep the 8500 is a great sounding receiver,great phono section too.BTW how do I stop the emails coming to my computer every time I get a reply?:what:

Hey Doug.Actually I live in Oak Forest but I grew up right off of 83rd and Pulaski not far from Bogan High School.

Thanks Dave. My wife's parents and grandparents grew up on the South side closer to Hyde Park. They had a place on Blackstone near 58th. and we would go there for Thanksgiving. I lived in Chicago for ten years but it was on the North side. I still miss that city.
